Pussy Galore -- do they really sound better on vinyl?

i dunno, i've been listening to right now and dial m for a quarter century on vinyl. they sound not the way they're "supposed to sound", but they way they actually do sound, the way they've always sounded, like what they are. have never had any complaints with or heard any complaints about the sound. it's not like they're raw power or the first BOC album, something that always needed a tweak. dgi.

for comparison, new day rising could probably use a remaster. (i dunno, maybe it's already had one)

I'd guess that a lot of reviewers will agree, and I definitely agree that New Day Rising would be a more critical patient.

But...I've had them on vinyl and on CD (Caroline), and while there was never anything exactly *wrong* with them, I've always felt like Dial M (more than Right Now) could benefit from a sonic upgrade. Still feel like Dial M is one of those albums that's way better than the band should have ever been able to produce. Totally weird song structures, noise interludes that work, and some pretty memorable drum and guitar parts for a bunch of people pretending to be untalented scumbags. It's such a sonically weird record that I want to hear it as clearly (and loudly) as possible. New version seems to acheive that. I'm pretty happy with it...

This is kind of weird: the remasters showed up on Spotify. Then, today, I was going to listen to them, and most of the songs were no longer available (this is in the US). On 'Dial M' only three remain, and all three are different versions than what's on the original album, but I have no idea where they're from. Undertaker, Dick Johnson, 1 Hour Later. Right Now has only two songs left, Wretch and New Breed. Anyone know where the "new" versions are from? I hear slight crowd noise in the background? Kind of strange...

Oh never mind. Spotify is pulling in tracks from In The Red without noting it. Annoying.
