idk what it is about me that I adore everything he's done in comic form, but find the animated/live action stuff an instant turnoff, even though I can see it's the same sense of humour? I'm sure i'm alone in this..

You are not alone in this, it feels a lot more heavy handed for one thing.

Think this would be a lot funnier if it was 5-10 seconds long, like an animated Vine or something

"Puppet Porno" was pretty funny but the cartoons are excruciating

Yeah, these definitely feel like a step down, wish he'd return to cartooning, since he was so good at it. You could almost imagine the "Mr. Faeber" as a mid-quality PBF cartoon, but the length of the cartoon does it no favours, the joke should be over once the kid is eaten.
