the action bronson is basically the only thing i've listened to for the past day and a half

can't bring myself to listen to an action bronson album, everything about him is so corny

though i'm sure it's good or whatever

i def get where you're coming from and i wasn't sold on the guy at all until very recently but i think this album is way too fun and hilarious to be corny

Def a fun listen, he is a good look for the boom-bap scene. I kind of want to dislike him but just can't.

i wanted to like him but never really thought he'd transcend his very obvious influences but idk dude just murders it this entire album

i dont understand how anyone could dislike action bronson

i think there's a very fine line between having obvious talent as a writer and being a compelling, singular rap artist -- plenty of rappers from new york have grappled with this and failed

krit's getting better as a producer but he has turned into a deeply uninteresting rapper imo. i still like his voice a lot so he's best used at this point just dropping a hook or something a la "we buy gold", which is by far my favorite song connected with him this year. xps

i mean fair enough, they are kids. but the difference is that diggy cuts a check to jeremih for hooks while rich kidz write a bunch of em on their own, all of which are better than whatever ppl are getting from jeremih

jay-z is the only person who i'd watch a live show of (maybe flocka) because he and his band are so good together but if he's not playing w/o a band...

i saw jay once live at this DJ hero event and, you know, after all the clowning we do about him now and shit it was fucking unreal amazing, he can just run through like a solid hour+ of classic after classic after classic, and he works well with his band to do cool things w/arrangements and bringing the energy up and down

then drugged out relapse era eminem followed looking like a sweaty ghost in a hoodie, so sad

i never post on this thread but this is the only place action bronson has really been discussed. i don't know how i feel about the production on his new tape but i lol'd when he name-checked jon caramanica.

there are a few tracks where it seems like he's actively trying to sound less like ghostface

i'd watch one for the novelty of how rare it is that Jay performs onstage w/ just him and a beat. but that's if i watched concerts on the internet which fuck that, talk about worst of both worlds.
