to clarify there really is someone else who came up w/ this observation about Muppet Babies before me and i genuinely can't remember who, although since nobody else has pointed it out itt i'm guessing it wasn't an ilxor or anyone famous

Not to remove a layer from your theory but technically they are "cartoon/baby versions" of a puppet since there was never a non-cartoon baby version to play off of until later. This is only one layer

how do you start that off with "not to remove a layer"?

through being disingenuous

it wasn't carrot top, that was forks's idea of "funny" (which, as we all know, needs scarequotes as much as carrot top's idea of "funny")

some dude, Wednesday, 7 March 2012 20:57 (twelve years ago) link

hey forks i think we might both think this is funny: kyle

Medical Dance Crab With Lesson (Trayce), Wednesday, 7 March 2012 23:16 (twelve years ago) link

haha, wikipedia is with you:

]The show portrays childhood versions of the Muppets living together in a large nursery in the care of a human woman called Nanny (the whereabouts of their parents are never addressed).

I remember the muppet babies were always in these massive desolate landscapes like outer space or something. Their "playroom" was really massive and cavernous.

that was the power of imagination you dool

only thing worse than muppet babies was tiny toons

tiny toons were bad, but at least had a bit of ambition and wit. worst thing abt that show was its fan culture.

"fan cultures" didn't exist on an elementary school level iirc

Oddly I couldn't really enjoy talking to other kids (in middle school) about Tiny Toons, but loved watching it with my mom. Same with Animaniacs.

Challop time: I never liked the Muppet Show.

Medical Dance Crab With Lesson (Trayce), Thursday, 8 March 2012 02:51 (twelve years ago) link

IIRC muppet babies started early at like 8 am, i think on abc ... and later obviously it was syndicated so weekday afternoons

also IIRC some of us watched non-shitty cartoons
