my favourite kith sketch related to shoes is the one where scott walks into a shoe store dressed in a trenchcoat and dave is the shoe salesman who has learned several english phrases phonetically but doesn't actually understand english. scott says 'just got feet don't got shoes' and beats dave up. it is pretty genius.

dilemma

Does anyone have a pair of Toms shoes? I want to get a pair to wear to work (so I don't have to take off my socks in the office when I change into heels) and I really don't want to walk in to work wearing flip flops like most girls seem to do in the morning. I need a pair of slip ons that are comfortable to wear without socks and will be able to contain my wide ass feet.

Hmm. First response: Love the cut-out sides and the warmth of the caramel color (even though usu not a fan of brown), but I'm iffy on the metal...things.

i don't know, i feel the same about the metal parts. i just need something that color.

Do you really need brown? I used to try and match brown things in my wardrobe with brown shoes but it's SO HARD to have things in the right shade of brown, because there are #infinity different possibilities. I gave up and started wearing brown clothes with colored shoes, ie cream, yellow, blue, etc.

Oooh or metallics: I have 3-4 different pairs of shoes in silver, bronze, etc.

I'm soon going to need this thread's help to reconcile my need for good solid dress shoes with my compulsion to get shoes with lots of details on them. (Answer = wingtips, I think?)

It is totally awesome, I could have bought half the store. I have visited there a few times over the last year and finally taken the plunge. I did not expect them to be so comfortable either. I would love a pair of the Spats boots but will have to wait a while before I can afford them.

For a long time my signature shoes were clarks desert boots, then two different kinds of red wings, but now I'm wearing these. Part of me thinks they're incongruous with the rest of my look but idk. I'm in love with them.

Yeah similar experience with the huraches. They are so comfortable. Idk why i spend all fall and winter in heavy red wing boots. I don't think I pull off ruggedness anyway.

confession: i have a big callous on the bottom of both of my feet, right on the ball of my feet. i can hold a flame to it for 5 seconds and i can't feel a fucking thing. haven't tried that yet but i believe it to be true. recently, i realized i have the callouses because i have holes in both soles of my pair of IRL shoes. i tend to use things until they break, and this really got reinforced during coronavirus.
