I saw a tiny triceratops foraging around on my bedroom floor.

I was in the South of France with 4 or 5 Frenches i had barely met when i tried it for the first time. We dropped then went over to a unknowing friend's house for dinner - it started kicking in as the spaghetti was served and i tried to keep straight as my steel fork constantly goosenecked towards my face - the pasta was just a mess of electrical wires. Ordeal over we retired to our flat and watched a crappy bootleg of the then unreleased Spiderman film which i thought was shit because i could see all of the "wires" the "stuntmen" were wearing. In the early hours we went out to watch the indoor market set up and to have beer and coffee and look at all the fresh fish. Did it again the following night at a free party but didn't have half the experience.

I saw God at a Phish show. Not recommended to anyone.

Drove to pick up a friend from work in blinding rain, and at the bottom of a steep hill flash flooding had left water over two feet deep covering the road. In the dark (and in my impaired state) I didn't realize this until my car was stalled and water was seeping in. Ended up having to exit the car through the window, and spent the rest of the night wandering around watching sandbagging crews.

was on acid at parents house, alone with friend, and dad came home from work early because he was sick. i panicked but was shortly relieved when he said he was going straight to bed.
i panicked shortly after when we could hear him go into the toilet to be sick. i slowly made my way up the stairs to see if he was alright and was greeted by the sight of him flumped in the bath with broken glass everywhere (which he'd accidentally knocked over) and his false teeth scattered all over the sink.

after initial shock, i preceded to be the good son and went downstairs to find 'something' to put the broken glass into and decided on a bin bag. But then couldn't find the perforated seal on the roll of bags and so requested the assistance of my also high friend - only to discover i was trying to unroll the larger wheelie bin style bags.

To which we both fell on the floor in fits of laughter, for what seemed like hours.

pretty sure im done with this but in its day. so many strange things would seem to happen, but not weird hallucinations-type stuff, which always seemed wildly exaggerated ime (mushrooms otoh), but ppl and situations and coincidences that would seem just so unlikely long afterwards. on the flip side sometimes things that seemed OMG retarded would be like "that really wasnt weird at all, wtf us?" the next day...but anyway, one time i was walking home at about sunrise and ran into another guy i knew pretty well who happened to have been up to the same thing somewhere else, we were crossing paths across town, which was funny and random enough. then we noticed the school across the street was on fire, and so we sat on a hill and smoked and watched it burn while firemen tried to put it out.

Confession time:

I've dropped acid three times.

The first time, I spent it watching the world boil and steam around me and having sex with my husband and one of our friends. All I remember about the second time is closing my eyes and seeing something pale, pink, and foamy floating on the water of a great big bathtub. The third time was so boring that I lost interest in taking any more trips.

I turned into the ball that Dock Ellis used to throw his no-hitter. Except he wasnt facing the Padres, he was facing a team made up of the tiles on the roof of my building.

Acid has the worst comedown of any drug I've taken. I often think I'd quite like to do it again (it's been ten years), then I remember those long sleepless hours when everything seems covered in filth including the inside of your brain and think twice.

i enjoy the comedown,as long as you have plenty of w33d and you aren't by yourself. you have this peaceful afterglo thing going on and everything is still and a little strange but you can communicate again and just hang out.

i like to just get a couple pixar movies and ill

Once I drank 1 million beers and then dropped some acid, or maybe vice-versa, or maybe sort of concurrently, but u get the gnrl idea. Somewhere around 3 am, separated from my people for god knows what reason, I staggered into the lobby of a dormitory building intending to visit someone on some floor or another. No idea what I might have been thinking at this point rly. Found a large plastic garbage bag of glass bottles, mostly beer bottles. Decided it would be fun to smash a couple of these by process of violent flinging against the walls of the elevator. It was. Despite the explosion of little glass shards - and big glass shards - I was "miraculously unharmed" (i.e., unaware of the few luckily small wounds I'd received in the process).

At some point, the elevator doors opened and some troubled-looking people appeared. This possibility of troubled people had not occurred to me. Apparently, hey had been wakened or otherwise disturbed the hellish 3 am cacaphony of breaking glass in their building's elevator. The stared at me. I ran past them and away, through an exit door and up a staircase. I could someone following me up the stairs, so I ran faster, all the way up the stairs to the building's roof where I found a locked metal door. I stopped and sat, finally defeated. A few moments later, a lanky RA-type dude I'd met one or twice turned the corner came tromping up the last flight. He stopped a few steps down from where I sat, took in what remained of my state for a long moment, then turned and tromped back down the stairs. God knows what I looked like at that point. After sitting in silence for a minute or two, I went home and passed out.

Always expected some kind of fallout from this episode, but it never materialized. No visits from the cops or bills from campus authorities. Never even heard about it second-hand from dorm residents. It just sort of vanished, for which I'm thankful.

But yeah, comedown from decent acid is (or can be) v nice, especially w friends, weed, quiet music, etc. Just watch the sun come up feeling all mooshy and comfortably frayed.

I miss having a steady source for mushrooms.

Oh, just sometimes it can make people overly interior and paranoid. It's a total ymmv thing, but I would go for alcohol (wine, esp) to take the edge off coming down.

a friend and i were still tripping a bit, we’re back at my parents house and it's like 5am, so i hear the ice cream truck comeing down the street. We start running around the room trying to scrape together some change so we can get some ice cream. Meanwhile the truck has passed the house, we run outside to try and chase after it. I guess we were being loud because my mom wakes up and comes out of her room like "what the hell are you guys up to?" we tell her we wanted to get something from the ice cream man. She looks at us strangely and says? "you guys are nuts! why don't you grab the newspaper while you are out there? the delivery guy just passed by"

In junior year of high school, I dropped three hits in first period. Second period was math, a subject I had struggled with all my young life. Fortunately, after catching serious trails from my pencil lead as I took a Scantron quiz, I became famous mathematician Ben Franklin, and able demonstrated a problem on the board for the only time in high school. Third period was Chemistry. The teacher walked in wearing a wizard's hat made out of posterboard and waving a yardstick like a wand, effectively out-aciding me. When he called on me to demonstrate a problem, I gave the wrong answer about 10 times in a row, despite him actually telling me the answer on the last few tries

Full disclosure: Let's just say that many people used to come to me asking for LSD.

I've tripped quite a lot, but not since 2007 or so. I haven't had the desire.

I have a lot of stories, but my favorite times on acid came when we would drop right before doing two-hour long radio show.

I haven't done real acid in decades, but I 'microdosed' on a hike a couple years ago. I didn't really feel anything but overwhelming energy; hiked from Tennessee Valley in the Marin Headlands to Downtown San Francisco without stopping.

Nice. I think that doing it in the outdoors is always my favorite.

Dropped acid at 10pm and watched Goodfellas, then had to be home for a 1am curfew (lol) my parents imposed because they caught me with pot. Started really tripping and stayed up until about 7am reading Needful Things (lol). Turn off my light to crash and my parents knocked on the door to tell me I had to jump in the car and drive 3 hours to NYC to visit my grandmother for brunch. Had brunch with my grandmother then drove back with my parents and got home in the afternoon. Still not having slept yet, I went out and got high with friends and drank Bacardi Golden Reserve until 1am. 40 hours still my longest bender.

The recent research on psychedelics and depression/anxiety has made a few things click in hindsight about my most successful academic years. Eating mushrooms twice a month was self-care apparently.

I don't know about successful academically, but I definitely gobbled up books and music and got a lot of non-academic stuff done when I was dropping acid all the time.

My creative practice excelled— I still got a B- in my Latin American Economics class.

Several years ago I went on a pretty intense day hike with a friend to a place called Gothic Basin and brought recently acquired acid, which I had never done before. Once at the (amazing, beautiful) top I took a small amount, maybe 1/3 of a tab, figuring it would do something but I should make sure it was legit and I didn’t react badly to it. On the way down my friend got stung by a hornet; she’s allergic to bee stings and had not brought any medication or an epi-pen. She decided to just run 3-4 miles down this quite steep mountain trail in order to get to civilization before the reaction got too bad, and I followed. I was pretty terrified that I’d put a foot wrong while running and then we’d be truly screwed, but we managed to get back to the trailhead in one piece and I drove her car back successfully and all was well. My first time taking a full dose was much more chill and relatively uneventful.

A dear friend has a quite amazing story about taking a large dose of mushrooms with his friend while sledding, then his friend bonking into a tree and breaking his jaw, and then driving himself and tripping broken-jawed friend through the snow to the hospital while peaking.

Tripped for the first time in many years recently. I though I'd be up for it but wound up filled with dread and self-doubt. Cried for a long time. I think I am officially too old for that sort of nonsense.

Yeah, I had a couple mushroom experiences in the last year or two which were not filled with grace, illumination and merging with the cosmos; I just felt weird and decided that I'm not gonna be a part of the neo-psychedelic tribe. I'm glad for the experiences of my late teens & early twenties, but that was then, this is now.

That said - a buddy bought a vape pen filled with DMT and that was kinda rad because it only lasts a few minutes; a bit like nitrious oxide but with more visuals.

I've been pretty curious about that. I've never tried psychedelics and the dude who's been goading me into shrooms is pretty insistent I take a full dose, which I really don't wanna do out of the gate. DMT pen might be cool though

Had a drop and then went and played in the ocean, just wading in up to my calves, running away from waves, exploring sea caves etc.

I can't officially recommend that since the ocean is a dangerous place.

But it's the best thing you could possibly do.
