helluva drug

one time, in LA

I have been offered free cocaine more times than any other illegal drug put together but it's inseparable, for me, from the devastation it has wrought on my father's country and most of its neighbours. I'm not going to lecture people at parties but i'd never touch the stuff.

So much fun to lecture ppl high on cocaine, though

anyone who holds this view should def not be paying taxes in the united sates because i have some info that may disturb you abt the cause of the drug war

have done it once or maybe twice, at parties, but the ethical aspect's a massive turn-off and it really didn't seem to make me feel any happier or whatever. plus the comedown was brutal. (also, in the regular state i worry a lot about what people think of me, and temporarily removing that worry just means it comes back triplefold afterwards)

(which is why i don't like drinking a lot either)

if you stop paying taxes your moneys go to a lot of things and only some of them are bad, if you did all the math maybe you could argue you 'help the drug war happen' but it's in such a marginal way.

whereas if you buy cocaine pretty much all the money is going to bad. you are not 'responsible for the system' but you are, still, much less indirectly giving money to very bad people.

Next time I'm going to ask a dealer for some fair-trade, artisinal, free-range coke.

well more anyone who 'cares enough' to buy fair-trade this or that prob shouldn't be buying drugs if they want to be consistent about their consumption philosophy

pretty much impossible to get when i was in my "druggie phase", and if you did manage to get it, it probably meant you were acquainted with some pretty awful ppl and the price was insaaaaane. i would prob try it now, if given the chance in a small group of friends, but i don't even drink (much) anymore bc i can't handle any kind of hangover - a coke comedown would make me kill myself.

Did this lots, was a big fan (all the speeds, really) until one night in 2004 I was hanging out w/ ppl and we were all high and everybody was over sharing and would not shut up and I was like, "Holy shit, these people are assholes" and I got up and I went to bed and went to sleep, somehow, and that's the last time I did any drugs, except alcohol.

So I guess I stopped doing coke because I can't stand being around people on coke.

It is so so hard to reconcile 2012 carl and early 2000s carl. Carl who allowed and actually invited Cathy (and more) to her house.

No stimulant drug i've ever used did anything for me (except raise my blood pressure and make my heart beat too fast). I doubt i could even get high on cocaine.

ugh this drug would make me freak out.

hs: Haaaa. Oh, I know. But tbh it was mostly helpful to me when I wasn't really feeling it but wanted to be around people, stay out or stay at the party. So I felt like it was bringing me up to "normal" on those occasions.

Although Christ knows I talk enough as is so I can only imagine.

The last time I did coke was in '97 or '98. I had probably done it a dozen times as opportunity had presented itself over the course of two years.

I stayed up late with an old friend really opening up and getting discursive about Ghostface Killah and gangsta rap in general. On the walk home, I was out-of-nowhere reminded of the KLF song 3 a.m. Eternal, which I hadn't thought of in like a decade, and I spent the next few weeks thinking about acid house instead of ska-punk, which was what I was overwhelmingly into at the time. I was living with my parents and so had to get up for Easter Sunday service the next morning. I had some sort of pleasant come-down experience listening to the pastor where I really felt like she was like the embodiment of a Lion of God.

I guess it wasn't doing monster rails off a mirror with hot women hanging all over me or anything, but it was overall a positive drug experience and I never really wanted to chase after it.

pretty fun drug. what sucks about it is everytime i do it, i want to do it again ALL THE TIME and I end up chasing the white dreams of more cocaine for several months to no avail. Coke people are so fucking gross, though. It makes you befriend a lot of sketchball assholes and have to spend time with them.
