as for the soulseek fake that alot of yall think is real: track 1 is really Freescha - Isotopes from Kids Kill the Floor. track 08 "sherbert head" is actually "drive me wide" from freescha's what come inside you PLAYED BACKWARDS! no shit! and "peacock tail" is actually "up the coast" from freescha's kids fill the floor. shall i continue? download freescha's albums if you dont believe me. you will find almost every track from this fake on freescha's albums....
there is another fake that is just a bunch of old boc songs that are kinda hard to find, like whitewater. i think there are boc compilations on soulseek called "some old tunes" or something like that. you will find the tracks from fake two on those comps...
and then there is this other fake that just sucks ass. its just so obviously fake. some really amateurish bullshit. i bet some 8th grader made it and thought he might fool some people..if any of yall think it's boc, yall dont deserve to be fans

And if it is fake, at least the forger demonstrates some understanding of BoC's dynamic and approach to making a track.

yeah, exactly. there's 300 posts of anticipation but by the time two tracks hit it's all been dissipated. most likely the new shit is so underwhelming it's enervated people's interest to the point that holding the z key down and hitting submit isn't even worth the effort.

OSTRE is definitely weaker than pretty much anything they've previously released. The use of crisp drum machines was a bad idea.. the mutated organic beats were part of what made BoC special. Another thing that set them apart from their contemporaries was the focus on melody, and the lack of it on OSTRE only emphasises that point.

It's the second song they play. It's hard to hear what's going on fully, but it sounds awesome.. it sounds like BoC, but in a way it's radically different form their nother stuff.

I think in trying to sound different with this album they're losing their distinctive character and feel. I've lowered my expectations tremendously.

and dissapointing i am sad to say.
BUT.i wasnt impressed with any of their songs on the 1st listen.so we will see.i still owe them for geogaddi even though i bought it.

In the context of the album, I'm sure it'll sound better to those of you who are underwhelmed (which seems to be all of you). But I actually prefer "Oscar" to the other leaked track.
Ah well, each to his own

Yes, it doesn't 'really go anywhere' because its already there! The subtleties and movements of sound are fantastic, with pieces being added and subtracted with extreme precision. The fact that there is no melodic hook makes it all the more intriguing to me. I get a sense of floating through space and passing through a swirling vortex of motions and glimpses.
I'm so glad that I didn't bring the expectations of specific structure, instrumentations and tambres that many of you seem to have. I'd challenge you to put on a pair of headphones and listen to this track on repeat, perhaps while doing someting else. I've never heard a piece of music quite like it.
