I just downloaded Switchfoot's 2003 debut

i totally forgot about switchfoot.... i was thinking about yellowcard for some reason yesterday tho

didn't like Switchfoot at all at first but "Meant To Live" grew on me and i feel like they've become a really consistent singles act since then -- faves are "Stars," Oh! Gravity," and "The Sound (John M. Perkins' Blues)"

tbh I'd rather listen to any of the Yellowcard singles before Switchfoot

iirc, "Lights and Sounds" was okay though no patch on "Ocean Avenue", though damned if I can remember how it goes right now.

"Lights and Sounds" actually charted higher than "Ocean Avenue" on the alternative chart (#4 vs #15)

yeah "Ocean Avenue" was one of those sleeper hits that never charted proportionally to its popularity. "Lights And Sounds" was fucking terrible imo.

I think I need to pull it up on YouTube again, maybe I'm conflating it with something else.

i like "way away" about as much as "ocean avenue" (which is to say, a lot) but they're a totally worthless band otherwise
