What do you guys think of how they abandon beloved features (Jah's poetry, This Week in Florida, Hip Hop & Country songs, Craiglist, Who's Mommin' Harder?) Do yuo miss these, or were they played out?

xxpost P Keyes... honestly I kind of like the flow of the new episodes. I mean, I love This Week in Florida, Jah's Poetry, the regular segments, but saving them for the live shows is kind of a cool idea. And, especially with This Week in Florida, you start to dilute the awesomeness of the original idea by having to come up with new stuff EVERY week, it starts getting played out. Like the Florida stuff just got a little less crazy over the weeks. I dunno. I love those segments though.

Janet Snakehole (VegemiteGrrl), Wednesday, 22 February 2012 17:34 (twelve years ago) link

I wish they still had this week in Florida. I mean, it's a state whose hijinks I'd like to keep up on. Other features run their course.

I think they've been doing Hip Hop & Country songs again recently, haven't they? Maybe at the live shows? That segment's pretty one-note in my opinion.

beachville, Wednesday, 22 February 2012 17:36 (twelve years ago) link

Really? I *love* Hip Hop/Country songs! It's one of my favorite segments. Especially if Jah and/or Seth can get a good flow going with the lyrics, it's fucking great imo.

Janet Snakehole (VegemiteGrrl), Wednesday, 22 February 2012 17:43 (twelve years ago) link

lol yeah i loathe the hip hop/country segments most episodes

⚓ (gr8080), Wednesday, 22 February 2012 17:52 (twelve years ago) link

ep297 is prob my favorite of the last few months.

⚓ (gr8080), Wednesday, 22 February 2012 17:55 (twelve years ago) link

I've only listened to the hip hop eps. Where should I start?

wolf kabob (ENBB), Wednesday, 22 February 2012 17:55 (twelve years ago) link

the letters from korean students in 297 were amazing

lag∞n, Wednesday, 22 February 2012 17:56 (twelve years ago) link

Lol yes that's def what makes me recommend it.

the best hip hop/country segments are the ones where all Jah can say abt the song is an awestruck "so fresh"

⚓ (gr8080), Wednesday, 22 February 2012 17:58 (twelve years ago) link

great "ask Jah" segment in 297 also

totally played out, they so don't need dorky stuff like this anymore

A Little Princess btw (s1ocki), Thursday, 23 February 2012 15:40 (twelve years ago) link

hip hop/country always made me cringe, def the worst part of the show

A Little Princess btw (s1ocki), Thursday, 23 February 2012 15:40 (twelve years ago) link

I think it's better that they moved on from most of that stuff, as funny as it was--but the fact that they're doing Craigslist at the live shows shows that they know it's still a crowd pleaser.

President Keyes, Thursday, 23 February 2012 16:34 (twelve years ago) link

sunny, ENBB -- Episode 16 is good for the mythology of 'what the hell is exactly wrong with Seth', his restaurant story in that ep is off the chain WEIRD.

Peppermint Patty Hearst (VegemiteGrrl), Saturday, 25 February 2012 02:43 (twelve years ago) link

I just went to itunes store to look for that episode. I thought I'd gone through them all, but apparently they start off with episode 18. Where are the early eps.

beachville, Saturday, 25 February 2012 14:07 (twelve years ago) link

?

beachville, Saturday, 25 February 2012 14:07 (twelve years ago) link

are you in iOS iTunes or a real computer iTunes?

⚓ (gr8080), Saturday, 25 February 2012 15:26 (twelve years ago) link

Apple. Is there a difference in the itunes stores?

beachville, Saturday, 25 February 2012 15:28 (twelve years ago) link

Just subscribe to the show in iTunes and your feed will show all the episodes. The iTunes store maxes out at 300 episodes I think. Jah addressed this on the show a few weeks ago.

President Keyes, Saturday, 25 February 2012 16:26 (twelve years ago) link

VGA could you copy the link for 16 and paste it here?

lag∞n, Monday, 27 February 2012 22:20 (twelve years ago) link

Jonathan has this way of looking at Seth that is just like, either he's baked out of his mind, or stone in love with Seth. Or an awesome combination of the two.

Peppermint Patty Hearst (VegemiteGrrl), Monday, 27 February 2012 22:23 (twelve years ago) link

I lied, it was Episode 15, not 16. Here's the link:

Woah that restaurant story is fantastic!!

giant snake birthday cake large fries chocolate shake (sunny successor), Tuesday, 28 February 2012 15:58 (twelve years ago) link

I know right? And I'm up to episode 25 now, and still talk of why he can't/won't talk in the restaurant.

But I love the part where the paramedics ask who is in trouble and Seth wave his arm at them. And gets mad that they came over to him! Dude, WHY did you wave?

Peppermint Patty Hearst (VegemiteGrrl), Tuesday, 28 February 2012 16:41 (twelve years ago) link

*still NO talk

Peppermint Patty Hearst (VegemiteGrrl), Tuesday, 28 February 2012 16:41 (twelve years ago) link

I think Seth most fully addressed the not-talking thing on another podcast (The W Weekly, episode 4)

President Keyes, Tuesday, 28 February 2012 16:45 (twelve years ago) link

! awesome, thanks

Peppermint Patty Hearst (VegemiteGrrl), Tuesday, 28 February 2012 16:48 (twelve years ago) link

beachville, Wednesday, 29 February 2012 11:59 (twelve years ago) link

so i've started listening to these on my daily runs from the start (so i'll never catch up, lol) and i'm up to episode 8. ty for the recommendation grady.

a hoy hoy, Wednesday, 29 February 2012 12:07 (twelve years ago) link

Episode 15: 20:09: Seth's story about not-talking in the restuarant he goes to, and having a moment with a batshit crazy girl.
It's pretty much Seth summed up. SO fucking weird.

New episode finally up! I hate not knowing what day it's going to show up.

Peppermint Patty Hearst (VegemiteGrrl), Wednesday, 7 March 2012 19:19 (twelve years ago) link

I usually go for Wednesday mornings.

beachville, Wednesday, 7 March 2012 19:22 (twelve years ago) link

new ep is really good. I love when Seth starts complaining about sobriety.

President Keyes, Wednesday, 7 March 2012 19:48 (twelve years ago) link

Or basic recording techniques lol. Never change gents. At least Jonathan doesn’t eat beef jerky into the mic or whatever he used to do
