i saw this awesome dog today in the park. his owner was walking past me in the opposite direction with his other dog, a black lab, who was being very good and jolly, but the (even more) awesome dog, a kind of shepherd cross, medium sized, had fallen back and wouldn't come when the owner whistled for it. so as i get closer to this awesome dog, i see that it won't follow the owner because it is guarding a Very Good Stick! in fact, an 8-foot-long tree branch that had fallen recently due to winter's wrath. so the dog barks at the owner to come to it! and picks up the thickest part of the branch in its mouth and drags it a few feet forward! lolll, seriously i was laughing. and still the owner whistled, but to no avail. the dog kept barking and hopping up and down in stick happiness and tried to drag the stick again. finally the owner started back towards he dog and had to drag it away from the branch. i think he was laughing too. dogs!

what is the cutest thing your doggy does?

i think the cutest thing my dachshund does is when he wants to lie on his side, he gets down really low on his legs and then leans to one side, but then at the last second, he just kind of topples over onto his side and rolls a bit too far and his stumpy little legs swing up in the air for a second before he regains his balance

it is so cute i kept picking him back up when he was trying to lie down in my bed this morning so i could watch him topple over again and again

there should probably be a sub-board just dedicated to animal apprecation

I don't even know where to start. Pugs are clowns and Benson is really insanely cute. I'm not just saying that either - people stop us all the time to say he's literally the cutest pug they've ever seen. It's sort of ridiculous.

OK at night he sleeps sort of half on my pillow and puts his head on my head and uses me as a chin rest. It's painfully sweet.

I give him a biscuit every morning in his bed when I leave. Every single day he saves the biscuit until someone comes home when the first thing he does is run to go get it with his tail and butt wagging 100x per minute. It's his "happy time the humans are here" biscuit.

So cute, all these dogs.

We were all worried about Enid having separation anxiety so we started to give her frozen cooked ground beef before we leave the house as a special treat, which has turned into this ridiculous ritual known as BEEF TIME. Like as me or the wife are getting ready to leave the house the dog gets all excited, and then we say "DO YOU WANT BEEF TIME?" and she runs into the kitchen with us and leaps up and down like a salmon before we drop a handful on the floor.

The other cute but sort of sad thing is when she does something like throw up in the middle of the night on her blanket - she acts all ashamed of her barf pile, looks at us like she can't understand how it got there, and then tries to "bury" it by moving imaginary dirt over the offending pile with her nose.
