Hmmm...I have karaoked three of these -- Search is Over, High on You, and Burning Heart -- in addition to Eye of the Tiger. They were all really fun to sing. I think I'm going with High on You because it's so extremely stupid and embarrassing to sing. Talkin to myself! Runnin in the heat! Beggin for your touch in the middle of the street!

Every song is remarkable for fooling me at the time into thinking they were by Journey.

their videos all seem to be the same shade of UV blue
the little convo that opens this is hilarious

"High On You." I love the chorus.

talking to yourself
running with your feet
begging for a crutch in the middle of tikrit

"tikrit" may have been a tasteless rhyme, sorry about that :-/

Lechera, it's a Survivor thread! Don't worry about taste.

Listening to their albums on spotify right now...so many of these songs are great, but yeah the Journey-isms seem even more shameless now than they did at the time (?!).

I love how the words to these songs have been in my brain since 1984 even though iirc I have never (aside from the karaoke bar) intentionally listened to them.

Burning Heart is damn good, and whenever I sing it at karaoke, I'm always impressed by the depth of the lyrics.

Wrote this about The Best Of Survivor(Volcano/Legacy) in an MTV Urge blog post a few years back: "Most awesome songs besides the tiger one turn out to be 'High On You' (#8 pop, '85), which starts out like the Four Seasons’ 'Who Loves You' and then says 'there you stood/that'll teach ya' and which I probably always thought was 38 Special (in post-Cars powerpop mode) and '83's criminally non-Top-40-charting 'Caught in the Game,' which sounds petty much exactly like Eddie Money's great 'Shakin'' from the year before."

So: "High On You."

"First Night" wasn't top 40, huh? I have a soft spot for it.

I was OBSESSED with "The Search Is Over" in fifth grade. I think it was just the title. I wrote a story inspired by the title and its soundtrack was just this song, except I don't think I knew how it went, I'd just seen the album at the mall.

I hope I voted for "Burning Heart".
