Yeah, this one's a pity. In iOS 2-4, it didn't calculate the heights of the multi-line text fields correctly, so I had to make it deeper than it should have been. They fixed that bug for iOS 5, which means Zing is now set too deep.
It's an easy fix, I'll push out a change soon.

Got the Lite one today. Thanks a lot!

Just sent new version to Apple. Not a huge amount of changes, but fixes some long-standing stupid bugs (including the compose window being too big), adds support for multiple sites/accounts, does a much faster job of bookmarking and checking bookmarks and some other stuff.
Have also whacked the price down to Tier 2, which I think is $2. This will probably be the last version that works on iOS 4-5, next (which am working on now) will require 6.

now why would anyone need support for more than one account?

Awesome. BTW, is there a way to search?
― calstars, Monday, 25 June 2012 01:32 (eleven years ago) link
Not yet -- it's actually p hard to do and one of the reasons this was taking so long. So I binned it for now but really want to make it work.

i second the complain about iphone 3 running 5 aaaaachingly slow. that was the worst "upgrade" ever - i wish i never would have done it!
― Mad God 40/40 (Z S), Monday, 25 June 2012 13:35 (eleven years ago) link
I dont recall I had a choice? Or maybe I needed 5 to run a game I wanted, or something dumb. Facebook runs like TOTAL ARSE on my phone. I'm not upgrading my phone - I didnt pay for it to start with, dont see why I should start now.

Facebook runs like shit on all models of iPhone. The app is horrible.

otm
the problem is as soon as you start to complain about it well then you're the guy complaining about a facebook mobile app

Plenty of people have already been that guy on the app store and it hasn't made the blindest bit of difference. Running it through Safari is an improvement.
― Madchen, Tuesday, 26 June 2012 07:54 (eleven years ago) link
I haven't accessed Facebook anywhere but from safari on any iOS device for at least a year now. their mobile website is perfectly one and a huge improvement on the app.

Stet, do you know why the time stamps are an hour behind on Zing? Is it because we're in BST? I have my location set to Europe/London and the time stamps show up right in the browser version.
― Alba, Tuesday, 26 June 2012 12:15 (eleven years ago) link
Thanks, stet. Updates are fun.
BTW, I don't know if you're aware, but the ask markers thread will not open on Zing. It's been that way for weeks and I just checked and it's still not working.

Just bought the new app, looking forward to trying it out. Does anyone use it for non-ILX purposes? Seems like it is possibly designed to work with other web sites too, but I'm not really clear about what that means or if I'm just confused.
― Moodles, Tuesday, 26 June 2012 17:23 (eleven years ago) link
I've heard you can use it for the sandbox but I never tried.
― ratso piazzolla (James Redd and the Blecchs), Tuesday, 26 June 2012 17:57 (eleven years ago) link
are we all downloading LoveCalc, too?
― Victory Chainsaw! (DJP), Tuesday, 26 June 2012 18:00 (eleven years ago) link
Alba: Yes, that's fixed in this version. For Apple, "Europe/London" doesn't respect DST, but "GMT" does. Nice.
Ask Markers: Fixed, the server was returning bad data for a post on that thread, weirdly.
Non-ILX: Yeah, the idea is to not restrict it to /ILX -- you can use it for the sandbox or if you have another conversation board. I have one at work I use for projects.

Is this an update or a new app? It's not on my updates list and when I search for Zing Touch, it says that it's already installed.
― Je55e, Tuesday, 26 June 2012 20:04 (eleven years ago) link
I don't think Apple's approved the update yet?
― mh, Tuesday, 26 June 2012 20:07 (eleven years ago) link
