A preview from She Said, "Transformation."http://theobelisk.net/obelisk/2011/10/03/colourhazetransformationstream/
Last update about She Said from December 15th:http://theobelisk.net/obelisk/2011/12/15/colourhazealbumupdate/
…Shortly after my October newsletter, after once again working through my old mixing console for another week, sorting ribbon cables, changing ICs, cleaning contacts and stuff, just when everything was finished and I was about to start mixing again, when the mixer sounded as good as never before and the very same day my technician told me “if something is broken, I can come until 10 am, then I’m in holiday for 3 weeks” — my old board had another minor breakdown, nothing big or unusual for an old desk, but all the work of the week before again was for nothing — I was fed up, I didn’t want to invest any more work in a mixer I didn’t want to keep anyway — I quit — and suddenly things came in move fastly so I had the opportunity to buy my dream mixing board brand new for a very good price, of course I had to get a bank loan and of course this is a huge investment which will need further additions next year to really finish everything — but finally setting up the studio basics properly, getting out of the improvised, under-construction state seemed to be the only possibility and starting fresh in a cleared up work surrounding was the only option — so we took a complete break in the production and made the effort to get our studio finally to the basic state where it always was meant to be — buying that new mixer and other needed items, planning, furniture, a new floor, complete rewiring — all a lot of complicated details and thinking, lots of people involved — next week, just before Christmas, we’ll set everything together and we’ll have a new start to finally get out of all the endless troubles and finish the album, hopefully… So please, again: patience : )
I corresponded with Stefan Koglek a few times last fall, with updates on the album along the lines of what was reported above and the sample track. I also asked him about some of their out of print stuff. He said:
About the old albums: I intend to make a box with the non-available releases, though I want to work on them (at least remaster) a little bit - I also plan to rework Los Sounds De Krauts - now we have a studio - so all is just a matter of my limited time....
I assume you saw my Colour Haze feature. I won't post it since apparently people think I spam ILM.

I was hoping this thread would be like flashing up the FastNBulbous signal. Your Colour Haze feature has been my guide as I've been working my way through their albums. That news about a box for unavailable stuff is great!
Fwiw, I don't think you spam ILM at all.

This was the cover art as of last year. Not sure if that's gonna change.

Jon, if by working your way forwards, you have not yet heard Los Sounds de Krauts and the others, you're in for a treat!
I poked Stefan for another update. He'd only say that a lot of effort was put into finishing the studio with the new console and cabling, and mixing has been resumed. He doesn't want to jinx anything by putting out an official release date yet.
I guess I can be patient. Another favorite, Ufomammut is coming out with two albums this year, along with a ton of other great stoner/doom/psych stuff.

Los Sounds de Krauts is their masterpiece

Los Sounds de Krauts is on deck, really excited to dig into it. I've been moving kind of slowly forward, taking time to let each album breathe a little before moving on.

After being delayed two years, She Said is finished! And a double album no less! According to the note from Stefan, it looks like it should be available sometime in September, possibly late August!
Dear Friends,it took a long time and was a hard way but finally we made it: therecording, mixing and mastering of the new Colour Haze album is finished andin the end all turned out quite good I`d say, despite all limitations anddifficulties. In the next days we will cut the master and finish lastdetails of the artwork, so next week the Double-CD is off to print and theVinyl to cut. i.e. In latest 3 weeks the DCD and in abprox 4-6 weeks the DLPwill be available. We hope to bring to you a lot of pleasure and joy withthis album, we tried to give our very best… ; )Please do not send any mails with preorders! I`ll send a regular newsletterwith more details when the CD is available.I intend to release the Vinyl at first in a limited version only – 1000copies of colored and another 1000 copies of black vinyl in a relief-printed3-panel fold-out-cover. This issue should be high enough that nobody needsto be afraid to miss his copy… later there will be an unlimited versionfor a nicer price of course. But also here: more in the next newsletter. Please excuse I was often slow in sending parcels and answering mails thelast weeks – I devoted everything to the album…Best WishesStefan Koglek

Excellent news! This brightened up an otherwise ho-hum day. Is there a place to sign up for the newsletter? I want to make sure I can get in on the order when it comes out.

Can you order directly from Elektrohasch to the U.S. easily? Reasonable priced? Or is there anywhere else to order All online? The CD version is sold out at All That is Heavy and its not turning up at any other likely locations.

What's reasonable? I haven't checked conversion shipping, but you can get it here:http://recordheaven.net/index.cfm?x=browseArtist&ID=3965&iID=74047&sc=&ob=tl&so=ASC&pp=50&pn=1&sl=true
and may be cheaper here, about $18 plus shipping:http://www.importcds.com/Music/1586462/Colour-Haze-All-CD

There were a few live sets turned up on Dime over the last couple of weeks. I hadn't been aware of the band before that. MIght well check out a couple of the studio sets now.

Oh man, ready for this to be available to buy, hoping for it to pop up in the next Aquarius or All That is Heavy list so I can quit compulsively checking every day. Even Record Heaven lists it as "special order - out of stock", so I'm not all that confident in ordering it from them either.

Disappointed to get both the Aquarius and All That is Heavy lists in my inbox tonight and see still no mention of this. Oh well, I'll console myself with that second Ufomammut record.

Another week, still no announcement for the new one at either of those outlets. But All That is Heavy did restock All and the live album, so I ordered both of those.

I saw a thread where people who ordered directly from Elektrohasch received their CDs last week. Unfortunately it takes them forever to get to the U.S. stores for some reason.
Anyone in or near London seeing their show at The Garage on Friday?
― Fastnbulbous, Wednesday, 26 September 2012 16:34 (eleven years ago) link
Kind of dragged kicking and screaming to this tonight by a friend but kinda surprised how good they were. Would of liked some hallucinogenics for total immersion (although at one point I definitely smelt weed and bacon sandwiches) but I loved their sense of dynamics and thei musicianship was amazing. Will have to investigate further for sure...

fyi, All That is Heavy now has She Said in stock, on 2CD anyway. Just placed my order! Glad I've held out on hearing it through other means.

Something I missed while offline on vacation last week, an epic interview with Stefan Koglek of Colour Haze about the monumental trials and tribulations on completing their latest - http://theobelisk.net/obelisk/2012/10/05/colour-haze-she-said-interview-with-stefan-koglek/

Any reactions to it? It's likely my #1 for the year. It doesn't play well with others when my playlist is on random, but listened straight through it's magnificent.
― Fastnbulbous, Wednesday, 21 November 2012 00:26 (eleven years ago) link
It didn't hook me at all. I guess I should try again.
― EZ Snappin, Wednesday, 21 November 2012 00:39 (eleven years ago) link
To be perfectly honest, I think it's their first record in awhile that doesn't improve on the previous one. It's still really good, but it feels more like a holding pattern, which is unusual for these guys. I do need to spend more time with it, maybe it'll grow on me more, but I found myself ready to move on a lot quicker than I did with the last 3 or 4.

I still like She Said a ton but I did think he would develop more of the psych pop direction that I hear in some of All but instead it's more sprawling.

Listening to the new one We Are right now and it is hitting all the right spots, another killer record from these dudes. So happy that they are finally getting U.S. distro via Ripple.

This thread skipped right over In Her Garden. What a fantastic album, very satisfying. I'm quite excited about that being up next from Ripple and getting a lot of new fans.

Another new one, Sacred, out now.. digitally anyway.

Guessing their deal with Ripple Music fell apart, since that reissue campaign dried up after one release and no news from that label about US distribution for this. Anyone ever ordered directly from Elektrohasch? Reasonable?
