I saw She & Him a year or so ago, a big outdoor show, packed ..

i too was at that show in chicago (nice 3 week worked based jolly during Mill. Park Festival season! ).
packed does not come into it, the park was insanely overcrowded.
i had no idea as to who Z was, or She & Him, so called it quits after the support, but i could hear the tweeness back in my apartment and realised i had done the right thing.

as for the tv show : its alright.

Watched the first four episodes of New Girl a while back. It was horrible. Did it improve like 1000x?

new girl is pretty funny, but it's because of the chemistry between the dudes that it is funny. i didn't see tonights ep but last week's final scene where nick is like "we all wear each other's underwear" and the other boys are looking at him with these shocked/disgusted looks on each other's faces was highly lolworthy.

The chemistry between the dudes? They're horrible and boring. At least ZD quirkiness is sometimes charming and not always treakly, even though it's not exactly comedy. Also she's not that weird. The dude's iniinterraction with her was written by some hack who was raised an a frat skinner box.

show has definitely improved since the first few episodes, whole cast has started to click and it's more of an ensemble than a 'here's what the title character is doing and how the supporting characters are reacting to it' show

the two wite guys are legit funny. they both have different but complementary i'm-losing-my-shit modes.

I am sort of aghast that people actually think this show is good. I've never seen it but I figured that people were just watching it for eye candy. People like a lot of things I don't find funny at all though so I don't think I'd be into it.

But I will give it a shot just in case.

Those dudes were such cardboard cutout types, and like half of the interactions were disjointed--not in an irl sort of way, but in a creative writing 101 sort of way.

I'll watch the most recent episode on the internets for kicks to see if you are totally cracked.

Thank you, Lamp. Everything about it looks like it would be painful to watch but, like I said, I'm willing to suspend disbelief and give it a shot.

I have seen the show twice: once b/c a girl who was in an improv class I took 3 yrs ago had a small role in it (she was one of the bell ringers) and then the most recent ep, b/c I heard it was self-aware abt Zooey's image. Both eps were funnier than I expected but also not really essential.

i havent seen any of the nu-era new girl episodes i saw one abt a wedding and one that was the pilot and one abt finding a dead body or s.thing

Mostly I'm just not a big sitcom person these days. This better be good now.

I get dismissing it out of hand, I did too until my wife made me watch a couple episodes with her. It was just the part about being "aghast" that someone would like it was kinda nagl when you hadn't seen it yourself.
