This is America for you. Remember this is a culture that has absolutely no problem with hundreds of hours of crime-show television with graphic depictions of death and torture, but freaks the fuck out at the nearest suggestion of a female nipple.

It seems like kind of a juvenile stunt, but who knows, maybe it was some kind of commentary on the Super Bowl as an ur-text of American culture. Probably people outside of the US are in a better place to get the joke.
