Huh, that was OK. Superbowl halftime is like the closest we can come as a country to true OTT Euro-style spectacle. I'm sure the crowd and audience alike would have been better entertained by one of those full-on drum, cheer and dance corp LMFAO renditions, though.

Hung Up would have been a better choice than Music.

that wasn't bad. not life-changing but enjoyable - she looked relaxed, which she hasn't for a while, and that was a strong selection from her back catalogue.

"music" was her last US megahit. "hung up" wasn't really super bowl setslist-level big.

But my favorite Madonna moment of the weekend was the Guy Fieri sketch on SNL when his Madonna tribue dish was a "weird bucket of mussels".

I thought it was sloppy and ridic and that she wasn't taking it v seriously, also way lol @ slipping on bleachers. That's not to say I didn't love it

After finally watching the superbowl thing, felt like the new song had the most energy by far, which is nice. The Give Me All Your Luvin' video is kind of disjointed, which put me off at first, but it's a good song.

Weird how between Parkour and Slacklining and Gymnastics and so on, Madonna is like a one-woman physical fitness ad for people who'll probably never progress past M's Tracy Anderson phase.

There's truth to that. Timing didn't help: if she'd released "Hung Up" after Mamma Mia it might have worked -- or asked Meryl Streep to sing it.

It's also because US radio wasn't playing dance music in 2005.
