Your 2012 Superbowl LXVI Thread

i'll be rooting for the giants but i really cant help but feel the pats are gonna take this. you can argue that the giants are better than they were in 07 and the pats are worse, but i think the matchup favors the pats a little more this time. in 07, if you took away randy the pats had difficulty working the intermediate area of the field. their current offense is in a much better position to mitigate a great pass rush. obv the defense is bad and eli's gonna have a great chance to throw it around the field, could be a shootout, but i could see the pats controlling the ball for a lot of the game

Prediction: the Pats will have a big play using Chad Ochocinco

That will be their "use Aaron Hernandez as a running back" surprise play of the game.

i could almost see belichick giving him something like that just because he likes chad. it'd be shocking if he played a real role outside of that, but i'd love it if he had a huge game

eh chad played i think one snap in the two playoff games after playing 22 in the last reg season game which also coincides with mcdaniels coming back. i don't think he's playing.

i'd be happy to be wrong and see him make a play tho

Chad had to miss the Baltimore game because his father passed away. He should at least be showing up for some snaps.

a great under appreciated aspect of belichicks success is the damaging parcells legacy aspect

i had it on in the background for a while and it was lame as hell. but i gotta say i always get a mild amount of enjoyment from watching jocks in suits, esp. when theyre frowning at jokes like dismayed cave trolls that know they don't like something but can't figure out why

I got to take the Pats to win. I cannot believe 'the evil one' will allow himself to lose twice to the team from Gotham.

That said, I hate the fxxxin Pats - GO GIants.

I think Bill Parcells should get in the hall of fame, but I don't think he is a first ballot coach, the guy isn't Bill Walsh or Vince Lombardi or Tom Landry. I don't know you can say Parcell was a genius innovator in a new way like those other guys, who literally invented ways that changed the game. He's got no more Superbowl wins than Tom Flores. Then again, the NFL Hall of Fame is really weird. Unless you count Sammy Baugh, there ain't a damn punter in the whole thing and it's not like you can play a game without one. There are a gazillion QBs and RBs and like percentage wise not that many offensive linemen. I guess that fame part is the biggest thing.

CBA says any player active for 8 games still entitled to full SB share. So Tiquan Underwood will receive his SB money and ring, if Pats win.

it's also generally agreed upon now that he only got released yesterday so that the giants couldn't pick him up, but that the pats had informed him long before yesterday that they were indeed going to release him
