I can't find a full version anywhere online yet, but the new Chasing Voices is magnificent. Four for four for those guys/gals/whoever. You can hear a sound clip here:

Ah dang, you'll have to copy and past that link to pick up the last /. You can find sound clips elsewhere of course.

anyone knows anything about the untitled track by Soundso (whoever he is) on Panorama Bar 03? has it been released?

dan138zig (Durrr Durrr Durrrrrr), Friday, 3 February 2012 13:15 (five years ago) Permalink

I don't know whether this track belongs here or the hipster house thread or even the dance partisan thread. but this is awesome.

dan138zig (Durrr Durrr Durrrrrr), Saturday, 4 February 2012 03:34 (five years ago) Permalink

The Sand Dealer is too good.

errant flynn, Saturday, 4 February 2012 23:32 (five years ago) Permalink

anyone has links to some good warm-up sets?

dan138zig (Durrr Durrr Durrrrrr), Monday, 6 February 2012 00:49 (five years ago) Permalink

this is really great-- kind of more earnest, more r+b hot creations vibe?

my understanding is that soundso, soundstore and TSOS are all aliases of soundhack, maybe better known around these parts as the dude behind the sound stream records?

the soundstore track came out on the panoramabar 03 sampler

the TSOS track came out on the sound stream 2011 sampler

not sure when soundso is coming out ... could be untitled for a reason?

i like that grown folk track. probably less appropriate for partisans and more akin to the more polished and 'legit' side of what we talk about on the h****** house thread (beautiful swimmers, john talabot, L.I.E.S.)

psychgawsple, Friday, 10 February 2012 00:27 (five years ago) Permalink

go to 1:40:00 and just listen to that track (Ragysh) until the transition. it gave me the chills.

dan138zig (Durrr Durrr Durrrrrr), Friday, 10 February 2012 10:32 (five years ago) Permalink

Is this the general house thread?

"I know its hard to hear but I'm a Realest." (rennavate), Friday, 10 February 2012 21:04 (five years ago) Permalink

more than any other thread, yes.

⚓ (gr8080), Friday, 10 February 2012 22:34 (five years ago) Permalink

OK I made the playlist. Anything mentioned in this thread goes on it, except for stuff that's not on Spotify obv.

So, my fav 2012 track so far and it's ticking boxes for me, Miguel Migs with Meshell Ndegeochello with Deetron on remix. It really comes in at 3 mins. Absolutely stunning. Such detail. I need to here this on the floor now!

New Andres 12'' debut on his own label La Vida. Andres is one that really needs no introduction, but for those unfamiliar here it is: Andres, aka DJ Dez, is one of Detroit's unsung heros of underground music. Since the late 90's Andres has built up an extremely respectable catalog of that blurs the boundaries between genres, most notably his records on KDJ and Mahogani Music. Not to forget, DJ Dez is also Slum Village's DJ, has recorded many hip hop instrumental on Hipnotech Records, and his hand is on countless other Detroit records. Definitely one of the most consistent producers we've got here whose music can be summed up in one word: Quality!

All Flowers Must Fade, Tuesday, 14 February 2012 21:21 (five years ago) Permalink

weird! was just considering posting that here. that title track on that one is beautiful.

andrew m., Tuesday, 14 February 2012 21:23 (five years ago) Permalink

*downloads meshell n on sight*

this, i think is from last year, but it's such a nice blend of pretty and tuff

btw what is going on in the 939493344-new-answers hipster house thread? i have little use for that music myself and once a thread goes over x new answers i can't click on it, but is it...interesting?

mainly just whether it 'counts' as house music or not

post, Wednesday, 15 February 2012 11:52 (five years ago) Permalink

so, not interesting then

the miguel migs/meshell n/deetron track is amazing btw

and this thread is already getting too youtube-heavy for me :(

might be better to post discogs links rather than youtubes (they tend to have the youtube in the discogs page anyway)

post, Wednesday, 15 February 2012 11:59 (five years ago) Permalink

Woah at the Me'Shell tune.

I know it's the Deetron remix but quite separately Miguel Migs seems to be moving into more interesting territory of late it seems?

^^^ Late 2011 bobbin but it might have been overlooked given it came out in mid-December. Most Maceo Plex singles are pretty great but this one is amazing.

Matt DC, Wednesday, 15 February 2012 21:23 (five years ago) Permalink

hmmm I wonder why maceo plex bores me to death

dan138zig (Durrr Durrr Durrrrrr), Thursday, 16 February 2012 03:14 (five years ago) Permalink

i LOVE that gesloten cirkel track, not sure i'm the right person to dissect everything that goes on in that one but i also love the interplay between a sort of ebm/industrial influence and more euphoric vibes. i need more tracks like this in my life

and re the h-house thread: if you sift through the tired arguments about whether it's 'proper' dance music or not you will find strong recommendations for the new ital full length, and some talk about the blondes full length (which is also p good imo). also people seem to like those new peaking lights remixes on 100% silk.

seriously tho, if you follow this thread i strongly suggest checking out that ital lp. good stuff.

psychgawsple, Thursday, 16 February 2012 03:53 (five years ago) Permalink

Currently enjoying this: - though with Huxley, I always like his tracks significantly more on the first few listens.

Josh L, Thursday, 16 February 2012 09:34 (five years ago) Permalink

I suppose this goes in the hipster house thread, but damnit I like this better than pretty much anything Ital has done on his own and seems to fit here just fine:

hey what do you guys think of RESTORATION records?

lucretio, marieu, analogue cops, etc ... is this going to be their year?

the late great, Thursday, 16 February 2012 21:32 (five years ago) Permalink

I heard 'why you love me' by analogue cops a lot last year. I only know that one and the captain power ep, i should check out some of the other stuff

post, Thursday, 16 February 2012 21:49 (five years ago) Permalink

like for a while it seemed everyone was playing why you love me

post, Thursday, 16 February 2012 21:50 (five years ago) Permalink

that's cause it was included on a four-track sampler for a dettmann mix (distributed by music man) ... it's really hard to find this stuff, even on slsk or whatever ...

is there a name for this type of stuff? in my mind it's strongly linked to the same sort of mentality as labels like SEX TAGS though in practice the sound is kinda different.

on hardwax i think they usually call it TRUE DISCO HOUSE BANGERS or DJ TOOL DISCO HOUSE or PROPER HOUSE DJ TOOL TRACKS but i bet i can come up with a catchier name than that

the late great, Thursday, 16 February 2012 22:07 (five years ago) Permalink

you've revealed your identity tonight, the late great! (unless this was obv to everyone else already)

I'm going to allow this! (LocalGarda), Thursday, 16 February 2012 22:27 (five years ago) Permalink

Didn't know about that dettmann mix cd! I bought the 12 after hearing Zip play it.

post, Thursday, 16 February 2012 22:37 (five years ago) Permalink

the sex tags stuff seems hardest to get hold of, daren't look at discogs prices for the ones i want

post, Thursday, 16 February 2012 22:38 (five years ago) Permalink

some of the big-name ones (skatebard) run for like $100 but others go for $10

the late great, Thursday, 16 February 2012 23:20 (five years ago) Permalink

I'm not sure if this is the right thread, but this Roxy Music edit from Todd Terje is very nice:
