as far as i'm concerned my nose sunburn is 100% not fruitless considering that i got to see dr. morbius shout "hang mayor bloomberg" and sing loudly in french after he realized he wasn't getting in :D

Dr Morbius, Tuesday, 10 July 2007 14:41 (sixteen years ago) link

Oh yeah, shit, the Internationale got dragged out for that one.

Laurel, Tuesday, 10 July 2007 14:42 (sixteen years ago) link

Or something? Rise up, something something of oppression, etc.

Laurel, Tuesday, 10 July 2007 14:43 (sixteen years ago) link

Dr Morbius, Tuesday, 10 July 2007 14:44 (sixteen years ago) link

yeah that was pretty sick. esp 20 min version of acid police

train wreck (r1o natsume), Wednesday, 12 May 2010 00:05 (thirteen years ago) link

20 minute version of Acid Police which kept going away...THEN COMING BACK like Return Of The King except more awesome each time

but my favourite bit was the half-hour or so preceding it. from the moment Eye got his staves out to the end of that euphoric bit where he bashed the six thingies on the right in turn. in between was probably the most thunderous music I've ever heard in a live setting. initially just fucking flat-out fury, then they hit this incredible, incredible rock groove about halfway through the show. sustained genius.

coalition to me (acoleuthic), Wednesday, 12 May 2010 00:13 (thirteen years ago) link

btw I was the idiot who yelled for Super Coming as they waited to start the encore XD

Feeling weird and melancholy about this being 14 years ago. Such a beautiful & transcendent experience. Me and my buddy took the ferry to Manhattan from NJ, then the subway to Brooklyn. We wouldn't have gotten in if not for a blue-haired punk girl who we ran into along the way who invited us to join the line with her friends. We were too shy to really hit it off with them, but grateful nonetheless. I vividly remember watching the sun go down behind the Brooklyn Bridge and seeing the silhouettes of ppl who'd gathered up there to watch from above.
