I still haven't heard WTT. I didn't like the Diddy record or MBDTF very much, so I'm kind of sceptical about this one... Do you guyses reckon I should give it a go?

Listening to the Liturgy album again and enjoying it a lot more this time round. Aside from the more experimental sounding tracks (which are great!), one good thing about it is the (relatively) short song length instead of all that epic-build fannydangle that dogs a lot of black metal.

When I finally got around to hearing WTT, I was surprised at how much I enjoyed it. Really wasn't expecting much from it.

there's some pretty good stuff on 'watch the throne' and it sounds huge and expensive and all that good stuff, but a lot of the time the rapping just isn't all that great

i do love "niggas in paris" (erm minus kanye) but i didn't think it was a remarkable album otherwise - occasionally good beats, bit of a slog overall, kanye is mostly supremely annoying

basically I feel like ppl punished this album because My Beautiful Dark Twisted Terrible Horrible No Good Very Bad Fantasy was overpraised

pretty much agree with this although i often enjoy kanye's terrible raps just because o_O/hilarity

well at least we get to discuss 76 nice records before the gushing over an album of faux-emotional warbling and caterwauling.

well they're all hip-hop, if you didn't like one, you surely won't like the others

re: WTT, appropriate placing for that very mediocre album

it sounds huge and expensive and all that good stuff

idk it sounds expensive as in it sounds like it cost a lot of money - it doesn't sound expensive in the GREAT way, ie opulent and fabulous - cf this, which is the most opulent hip-hop beat i've heard in some time

there are also points where Kanye does go all the way through o_O and back into "okay I can fuck with that" territory but I'll be fucked if I can name any of them off the top of my head

idk there's def some beats on WTT that sound expensive AND great

hooray, my first place vote!! <3 tho tbh, since submitting my ballot i think i've fallen for tune-yards more, but really happy to see this make the top 77.

I've only listened to the one song from the tracks poll, but I love this kind of thing. Much more realistic interpretation of the New York early-80s L.E.S. scene than things like the Rapture or LCD Soundsystem. Been wanting to hear something that melts up that no-wave/hiphop/disco crossover for a while now.

love the opening lines of "voodoo" so much, particularly her intonation of "wa wa wa wa WITCH!"

This is such a great album. Only heard it in December and ended up putting it in my top 10.

i mentioned it in the tracks thread, but i really dig the sonic contradictions within "dizzy," A LOT

WTT is way better than MBDLMFAOF and it still didn't earn my vote. I am fine with this placement.

it is kinda weird that even despite a lot of ILX not feeling MBDTF it still placed at #7 last year (and even that was amusingly low), wheres WTT...#73 is nowhere for an album/artists of that profile
