Sometimes I feel like I'm living on a sinking ship--like this place has had it's day and now it's over. But that's like crying and saying that you'll never listen to an other band after the Pixies broke up, because they were the best band ever. (Mind you, I did this.)

kephm, Tuesday, 21 October 2003 18:37 (twenty years ago) link

i hope i score at the fap

kephm, Tuesday, 21 October 2003 18:55 (twenty years ago) link

I've only been here for like a month, but I think Boston's an incredibly beautiful city. I am seriously in awe of the Big Dig, and will happily tolerate any temporary traffic problems it causes. What was the last American public works project in its league? The Panama Canal? It's epochal stuff.

There are certainly some provincial parts of Boston, but they're pretty easy to avoid. There are far fewer assholes here than in San Francisco, at least.

Kris (aqueduct), Tuesday, 21 October 2003 18:58 (twenty years ago) link

KRIS! Where are you?

Dan Perry (Dan Perry), Tuesday, 21 October 2003 19:00 (twenty years ago) link

JP

Kris (aqueduct), Tuesday, 21 October 2003 19:01 (twenty years ago) link

Clearly I am running out of excuses for not going to JP.

Dan Perry (Dan Perry), Tuesday, 21 October 2003 19:02 (twenty years ago) link

EAT DICK FAGTOGS

kephm, Tuesday, 21 October 2003 19:07 (twenty years ago) link

JPs great. Everything here is run by artsy mothers and right now outside my window a bunch of kids are playing stickball(!) in the street. This doesn't happen in the bay area.

I like Nashville too by the way. I'm not sure why saying a city is less interesting than Nashville would be necessarily damning. Now Cincinatti, or Colorado Springs, or San Jose, on the other hand...

Kris (aqueduct), Tuesday, 21 October 2003 19:10 (twenty years ago) link

hi Kris!

Tracer Hand (tracerhand), Tuesday, 21 October 2003 19:16 (twenty years ago) link

I was sorta wondering when you would finally move out there, Kris. And now I know!

Ned Raggett (Ned), Tuesday, 21 October 2003 19:17 (twenty years ago) link

i have no idea. boston sucks cause everyone says so.

kephm, Tuesday, 21 October 2003 19:17 (twenty years ago) link

My rent is $230.

Kris (aqueduct), Tuesday, 21 October 2003 19:33 (twenty years ago) link

i have seen the light ... boston is the greatest city in the world. NYC, DC, Philly, Nashville, London, Chicago, Tokyo ain't SHIT compared to Beantown! i love the red sox -- i only wish that pedro martinez stomped on don zimmer's head instead of just pushing him down fuck the yankees! i wanna piss on yankees stadium!!

Little Big Macher (llamasfur), Tuesday, 21 October 2003 19:34 (twenty years ago) link

If Pedro had stomped on Don Zimmer's head, I think my reaction would have alternated between horrified laughter and horrified laughter.

Dan Perry (Dan Perry), Tuesday, 21 October 2003 19:36 (twenty years ago) link

Seriously, he's kind of right about the New Kids thing though, they were pretty awesome. Also: Marky Mark and the Funky Bunch, who the fuck gonna argue with this?

Allyzay, Tuesday, 21 October 2003 19:50 (twenty years ago) link

dj jazzy jeff and the fresh prince beat stupid marky mark and the funky bunch any day!

Little Big Macher (llamasfur), Tuesday, 21 October 2003 19:51 (twenty years ago) link

OMG kephm U STOLE MY LIFE!!!!11

TOMBOT, Tuesday, 21 October 2003 19:52 (twenty years ago) link

Furthermore, Will Smith completely dissed MIT in favor of his music career!

Dan Perry (Dan Perry), Tuesday, 21 October 2003 19:53 (twenty years ago) link

Also: Marky Mark and the Funky Bunch, who the fuck gonna argue with this?

Back in 1992, I was at Magic Mountain riding the little gondola tram thing to the other side of the park while below me Marky Mark and crew did various dances. I was bemused.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Tuesday, 21 October 2003 19:53 (twenty years ago) link

Were they doing the Electric Slide? PLEASE TELL ME THEY WERE DOING THE ELECTRIC SLIDE!!!!!!

Dan Perry (Dan Perry), Tuesday, 21 October 2003 19:54 (twenty years ago) link

(why is tad copping my moves with the reverse 180 trick flip?)

xpost: ned-you are lying?

kephm, Tuesday, 21 October 2003 19:56 (twenty years ago) link

Seriously, my AIM icon is Will Smith. I shit you all not. He's my personal hero. But I note he doesn't sing a song about how Boston is the city where the heat is on and everyone parties til the break of dawn (welcome to Boston--bienvenido a Boston). No, he doesn't. BOSTON IS WORSE THAN MIAMI.

Allyzay, Tuesday, 21 October 2003 20:00 (twenty years ago) link

but marky mark didn't sing about how he thinks that he can beat mike tyson!

Little Big Macher (llamasfur), Tuesday, 21 October 2003 20:02 (twenty years ago) link

ooh, yeah. Miami's fuckin' TERRIBLE.

TOMBOT, Tuesday, 21 October 2003 20:02 (twenty years ago) link

say that when the canes beat the vols 52-3 this year!

cinniblount (James Blount), Tuesday, 21 October 2003 20:04 (twenty years ago) link

actually, i think that Miami's worse than Boston ... there's one city Boston beats ... but only because of the weather.

and Houston ... Boston is better than Houston. but Houston is just a big smelly oil-dripping swamp, so what's that saying?

Little Big Macher (llamasfur), Tuesday, 21 October 2003 20:04 (twenty years ago) link

Boston is better than Hastings, MN.

Dan Perry (Dan Perry), Tuesday, 21 October 2003 20:06 (twenty years ago) link

can we have a rural hunting /fishing fap?(for real)
i am bored of cities and how big their dicks may or may not be

kephm, Tuesday, 21 October 2003 20:08 (twenty years ago) link

Boston is better than either Newark, NJ or Newark, DE. except that cigarettes in Newark, DE cost $2 less per pack than they do in Boston. and not only can you smoke in bars in Newark, NJ, they apparently don't care if you drink or smoke crack in the streets over there.
