Bahahah!
I've been to Syd quite a bit since that thing was built and never been on it. Does anyone actually use it apart from tourists as a novelty?
― Trayce, Monday, 9 January 2012 00:13 (twelve years ago) link
I used it once, as a tourist
― unflushed deuce (Schlafsack), Monday, 9 January 2012 00:14 (twelve years ago) link
i went on it once. you can't even see out of the windows, because they're covered in ads. fuck that monorail.

"how can we monetise this monorail going forward"

the monorail episode of the Simpsons is funny because it's true

I hopped on the Monorail and scored this exclusive picture:

hey guys hey guys LIGHT RAIL DOWN GEORGE STREET
(eventually, one day, we promise, cross our hearts, don't bring up "Sydney Metro")

what the fuck is the puppy thrown out the window story my mom half explained to me on our weekly sat call????
― I just got back from a dream attack (sunny successor), Monday, 9 January 2012 08:11 (twelve years ago) link
They better not put a tram line down George Street. I lived in Edinburgh during the construction of their delayed and over budget tram to the airport. For the entirety of my stay there were road works, road closures and general chaos from the main drag being ripped up for tram tracks. It was horrible and if Sydney decides to do the same thing I'm leaving until it's finished.

When I stopped using deodorant the usual stink went away in a matter of weeks. Putting all those quickly absorbed chemicals under your armpits every day does nothing for your long term health. DON'T USE DEODORANT!!!!!Commenter robbyLocation melbDate and time January 10, 2012, 7:17AM

Australians are generally assertive enough to growl at those who push into queues. Migrants learn quickly. As for deodorant... ever smelt the average Aussie tradie on a 40 degree day?Darron | Melbourne | 10 January 2012, 6:54AMWhy are you sniffing tradies ??Kel | batmania | 10 January 2012, 7:42AM

*googles*
To be honest I really wanted to get some more Jack Daniels steak sauce but I have a bunch of different kinds of steak sauce that I had got to try and didn't really care for but I knew if I tried to push for steak sauce it would be Deodorantgate all over again. So I decided not to press my luck. It all worked out. I had to give up my surge protector to make my dad's DVD player work but he's all set up now.
oh ok

Ditto Turnbull. Shit, if Turnbull was up, Labor might as well pack up and go home.

otm.
George Megalogenis did a piece for November's Communist Times Monthly in which he suggested Turnbull is the only fucking proper actual potential leader since Keating, and the only one who is willing to promote social issues and economic reform at the same time.
