If there were ever a record to perform with both singers' backs to the audience, it's this one.

"Iced Honey" was good, despite Lou's autocue issues. WL/WH... mere words etc.

Who gives a fuck about autocue, it was great.

problem was he stumbled over some of his lines, I thought. But yeah, it was good.

It's the stumbling that makes it, and also the concomitant deadly serious intent, like Morton Feldman meeting Roy "Get It Together" North.

Fun to imagine this originally a Reed/Anderson collab, and then they get into some argument about the heating bill, and Lou storms out and calls up James.

it's pretty good, some cool versions. "Junior Dad" is the only Lulu tune. might like the Lulu version better though! just a duo show as far as i can tell. zorn-free.

It was the gateway for millions of fans, but for those of us who were older, a) it was a surprisingly weak collection of songs (good singles, loads of filler) and b) off-puting to see mainstream audiences embrace something that just wasn't anywhere near as good as the first four albums. It's trite looking back, it's an immaculately produced record, but it was a bitter pill back then.

for a lot of the album it sounds like he's really straining to be heard over a band as muscular as metallica...which sometimes works, esp on the really hard/fast songs like the "supreme violation/oh jack i beeseech ya" parts etc...but yeah on jr dad he's voice doesn't sound shot and i think it's because he could relax and not strain
