last.fm profiles aren't private, that's kind of the point.

yeah profiles aren't private, but people coming to and from your own profile are. imagine blogging about everyone who visited your facebook account and their fucking status updates? like 300 x in a row.

i mean how can you justify listing everyone's taste match to your own as they come and go, comment about their library, wonder about their friends, etc., hour in and hour out, without that becoming well CREEPY?

say herman g. neuname went on for four posts about some guy, say 'struggin,' who: visited his last.fm profile, received a "very low" compatibility rating with "insane clown posse, iron and wine, beyonce, trae" as exceptions, added him as a friend, left an unsavory comment, decided his shitty metal ass wasn't worth it, defriended him.

fun times. and then 'struggin' googles himself and finds herman g. neuname talking shit about him or being funny or whatever on a public board that has nothing to do with last.fm and had no real right to post that info in the first place.
