i always thought that a manager shouldnt really be considered great if they can win everything w/ like utd or barca and should do the 'go through the leagues to win it' for true immortality. maybe mancini thinks the same.

gonna hold off until 2013. i'm the kind of miser that wants at least 3 years out of my games. This thread is testing my willpower tho i admit.

as it should. i buy it every year and more than get my moneys worth, ie i play it until the new one comes out. But this year is the dogs bollocks. Esp now ive found out about the ingame editor and faces packs and the other things. And ive not even delved into fmrte yet.

i love seeing all the players managers and even coaches faces on the screen. it may not be essential to the game but fuck me it does enhance it. esp considering how quick and easy it is to do. i thought you would need to be a programmer/designer to do it, but no!

of course fm11 and fm10 have all the addons too for their versions if you dont upgrade.

i expect theres patches to have the correct teams in the correct divisions or you can use fmrte to change the teams in the division.
Apparently you can edit tables so you could put the game on holiday to todays date then with fmrte you can edit the league tables etc to the real life results as they stand now. tho it would be easier just to buy fm 12 tbh!

ones with player transfer updates. They usually have real league divisions too in them. obv you would be starting in 2009 but with 2011 line ups. But im sure if you are still using an old game you can handle the dates being wrong.

yeah it is fun. With that happening you dont need to worry about not having real life players/managers at the right teams.

a tactic btw for those who take smaller teams rather than the top ones

This tactic has brought me great success with my beloved SAFC.

It is a counter tactic so should be good for smaller teams but defence is important.

GK- 1on1s important as is handling and distribution is set to short.
FB - Crossing Stamina Passing Work Rate
RCB- Heading Jumping Tackling Agression
LCB- Pace Heading Passing Positioning
RMC- Playmaker. Not set completely but makes most of the chances. Passing Creativity Decisions Long Shots
LMC- Ball Winner. Tackling Stamina Passing Composure.
AMR- Crossing Passing Finishing Still to find a star for this position
AML- Dribbling Flair Creativity Finishing Passing. The match winner
STR- The poaching machine. Finishing Pace Composure Off the Ball
STL- The Target Man STrength Finishing Passing Creativity

None of this is concrete but use V3 mostly to start once in front switch to V2. This seems to counter again and you hold your lead. Alternatively you could reverse this or use one if successful.

Nah. I genuinely don't give a fuck about patches. In fact I kinda miss the charm of made up badges, and am annoyed I have no idea what half the things mean now I get asked about Spanish named prizes and comps, on account of speaking English.

sam see your players who ignored your tactics? did you have them on high creativity? that might explain it.

Yeah I'm starting to come around to the fact that I can't play 'very fluid' anymore, no roaming either.

im sticking with my barca tactics for whoever i play now. im winning every game from 2-0 to 10-0

I had the Arsenal tactic down to a tee last time and played it again this year- guess it was realistic again.

Barca still 13 points ahead. But I could win the CL, just had an 8-7 ag semi final win against the gunners. Also absolutely gutted my b, c and u19 teams to re-do them this summer. Only signing I made or will make that isn't transfer listed or on the cheap or a youth is Cavani.

shite, the update has somehow changed stats on all of my players and they are all significantly lower. messi and co all have only 15 for pace,dribbling,finishing yet they were nearly full.
i thought id try fmrte to fix it but apparently it wont work with the update. i cant even use the fitness thing. Still beating teams and top of the league after 4 games but i hate the fact its reduced everyones stats to below what i started with. stupid update.

As a scout tool it will let you see player's attributes, their current and potential ability, their value and how a club would like for the player. FMRTE has been available since Football Manager 2008, and we have seen it evolve greatly in that time.

but it doesnt work with new steam update so will need to wait for the fmrte update.

coulda done with the scouting help in the close season.

its funny how i wanted to avoid using this for other than keeping players fit yet the stupid update is making me use fmrte. its like the gods are trying to make me cheat. but i will resist.

So I just tried to buy this. Maybe I have bought it. I don't know. I seem to have downloaded and installed something called 'Steam'. Why exactly, I have no idea. I seem to need some kind of validation code before I actually get the game. I haven't got one. According to my e-mail: "Your order is being validated. yeah you need to have a steam account. even if you bought the dvd you still NEED steam now. its to prevent piracy unfortunately. I already had steam anyway as its simpler to use.
The validation is manual so has to be actually done by a real person and i guess its friday night... hope you dont need to wait to long. Because i had pre-ordered from steam i didnt need to wait for validation.
