― La Lechera, Monday, 2 January 2012 03:54 (twelve years ago) link
"ILX" cap-sensitive
― Clay, Monday, 2 January 2012 03:57 (twelve years ago) link
For some reason, i've been able to post to either the sandbox or normal ILX. i get this error:
"could not post message for unknown reasons. (Sorry, btw)"
anyone else get this?

"ILX" cap-sensitivei tried this, but it gave me this
"Connected to the server but then...boom. Is the "instance" right?"
What am I doing wrong here?

Did you change server to http://www.ilxor.com ?
― Clay, Monday, 2 January 2012 04:33 (twelve years ago) link
server http://beta.ilxor.cominstance ILXcheck your username and password obv
― caek, Monday, 2 January 2012 04:33 (twelve years ago) link
got it! i didn't realize we were still on the beta.ilxor server, so i changed it back to the old onefixed
― La Lechera, Monday, 2 January 2012 04:38 (twelve years ago) link
i'm still having the problem i mentioned a few posts up (i can read posts, but i can't make my own, and my bookmarks don't work). the instance is set at ILX, the username and pw are the same as always, and i've tried both http://beta.ilxor.com and http://www.ilxor.com as the servers.
not sure if this helps, but i never had the problem until we switched to the sandbox and i adjusted my zing settings accordingly.
anyone have any ideas?

Kill your zing instance and restart?
― TEH PNINFOX aka the veen driver (James Redd and the Blecchs), Wednesday, 11 January 2012 16:44 (twelve years ago) link
Or just delete Zing and reinstall. Are you sure you don't have a trailing slash on the server? (eg com/ instead of com)
― stet, Wednesday, 11 January 2012 16:45 (twelve years ago) link
I think you're screwed. Start posting by USPS now.

Just checked and it's not happening to me anymore. When I click the Safari link from a particular post on a long thread, Safari opens w/ that post on top and the rest hidden. (Long way of saying, it opens to the permalink to that post.)
Oh, but I'm on http://ilxor.com - no www

When text takes up more space than fits in the post window, the cursor and text I'm typing disappears below the bottom of the box instead of the text scrolling up so I can see what I'm typing. Is this normal and does it happen for everyone? I thought didn't used to do that. I get around it hitting return a bunch of times and going back to what I was writing.
An odd thing happened today: a couple of times the text I was writing switched became invisible. I could see what I'd written before, but everything else after a certain point wouldn't show up, but it was definitely there b/c I could see it when I selected the text. I'm sure that's just a glitch in particular copy of the app on my phone, but I thought it was strange.

been meaning to post abt this-- was gonna try and re-install before posting here but i guess it isnt just me
― ⚓ (gr8080), Monday, 13 February 2012 00:15 (twelve years ago) link
The disappearing text for me has mostly been an overzealous keyboard/toolbar area where the text is behind the toolbar. Maybe it's not calculating the cursor position re: the toolbar correctly?
― valleys of your mind (mh), Monday, 13 February 2012 00:17 (twelve years ago) link
Yeah, this one's a pity. In iOS 2-4, it didn't calculate the heights of the multi-line text fields correctly, so I had to make it deeper than it should have been. They fixed that bug for iOS 5, which means Zing is now set too deep.
It's an easy fix, I'll push out a change soon.

Just sent new version to Apple. Not a huge amount of changes, but fixes some long-standing stupid bugs (including the compose window being too big), adds support for multiple sites/accounts, does a much faster job of bookmarking and checking bookmarks and some other stuff.
Have also whacked the price down to Tier 2, which I think is $2. This will probably be the last version that works on iOS 4-5, next (which am working on now) will require 6.
