Love the Jonny L one. The one that brings back big memories for me is his epic remix of Incognito's Out Of the Storm. I was big into Gilles Peterson's Kiss show in 1996 and this helped me transition into techno. It's all about 8m45s.

Also 2011 excellence:

I guess it's an "edit" because the changes are quite subtle, but extremely effective.

Oh wait this is from last year, I've just been playing/hearing it a lot this year, never mind

is he scared to release an album or what?

jed_, Monday, 31 October 2011 21:16 (twelve years ago) link

I was thinking this the other day. Maybe DJ touring and remixes pay better?

Dj touring and remixes pay. better?

Jedmond, Tuesday, 1 November 2011 10:10 (twelve years ago) link

ambivalent about a lot of carls 00s remixes..was never a fan of falling up, much prefer the orig

Wow, that Jonny L thing is fantastic ... I'd heard bits and pieces in mixes but not the whole thing.

Seeing him tonight in Oakland. Yesss.

five months pass...

Reviving 'cause I'm going to see him on Sat night and have realized that there are huge swathes of his output that I still know nothing about.
Help a bluffer....

Mr Andy M, Thursday, 3 May 2012 13:16 (twelve years ago) link

It's being billed as a 69 live show, so I'm guessing anything he's done under the 69 alias would be the place to start?

Mr Andy M, Thursday, 3 May 2012 13:19 (twelve years ago) link

favourite 69 specifically:
ladies and gentlemen
desire
jam the box
my machines
sub seducer
microlovr
rushed
pungtang

there were basically 4 eps released under that guise that were collected together as one lp 'the legendary adventures of a filter king', if you can find that you're laughing. not sure if he plays any of his non-69 stuff (guessing he does) but i'm jealous regardless.

Awesome, thanks :D

Mr Andy M, Thursday, 3 May 2012 15:06 (twelve years ago) link

the 69 comp I've got is called "The Sound Of Music" and it's missing Ladies & Gentlemen and Puntang. 69 alias is my fave CC I think. Incognito remix my favorite remix.

mmmm, Thursday, 3 May 2012 15:27 (twelve years ago) link

I think the Paperclip People album is still my favourite.

^ Yeah I like the couple of Paperclip People tunes that I've heard so far, will check that out.
Got Ladies and Gentlemen by 69 playing just now and it's a jam for sure.

has anyone heard the tom trago remix yet?

the late great, Monday, 15 October 2012 15:45 (eleven years ago) link

"remix" - it's basically the original with some bits looped so he can mess around with the EQ, right? The original is stellar though so no complaints.

“The Climax” is like the obvious solution to seemingly impossible puzzle. It can’t be recreated or improved upon. Change my mind.

Is he anything like Craig David? Because they both have 'Craig' in their name and last names that could be first names.
