I am legit 100% in to "The View" but it took a few listens to get there.

JH sounds honest to got awful on brandenburg gate. i always used to think he had a great voice for heavy music, but apparently he's a full-time crooner now?

really do like the *idea* of this being good... it defies so many old crit/genre/tribal assumptions and rivalries

last half of junior dad is legit beautiful

any recommendations on other modern/abstract/ambient string quartet shit like that?

Is "The View" about the television show, I can't decide.

and yeah, Junior Dad is actually really beautiful... the hell...

i cant help but feel like this would be a truly great record if only they weren't all sober :-\

yeah, surprised at how much they really "let go" in this though, considering how late in the game it is

so far for me the only thing spoiling this is some almost comical singing from hetfield (i've only heard the first two songs).

Figured it out -- this is the equivalent of that one Phish album they did with that burnout/performance art buddy of theirs, the Dude of Life or whoever he was.

"Junior Dad" is genuinely good. And yeah, Hetfield's singing makes this album a lot worse.
