Just got the Eddie C album too. 9 (of 12) tracks in and already hands-down solid! I'd been playing the hell out of certain individual tracks (do it yourself!!!!!!), but I'm really very please so far at how this works as an album. Tip!

Fantastic new slo-mo funk/disco mix from Atlanta's DJ Osmose...

You can grab what's effectively a new, free Tiger & Woods album at http://running-back-records.tumblr.com/

Is it just me or does Track #5 end prematurely on Vicki & Leekx? Shame because it's prob my fav track. Oh well, I still have my RA version of it.
And reppin Eddie C as a fantastic live DJ. Tiger & Woods had visa problems or something and he stepped in, fantastic night. His album still has to grow on me.

yeah, that track ends abruptly. my fav track along with #11. anyone knows the original song of each edit?

this is probably the thread I missed most during the Sandbox period

"only girl in the kitchen" (boxedjoy), Friday, 6 January 2012 14:49 (twelve years ago) link

not sure if this is technically an edit or if they just use the sample from "how long", but i've been enjoying this:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lKHcdFgHEJM&feature=related

the rest of the ep isn't shabby either

I haven't listened to the Boysnoize 'Adonis' remixes yet, but I gotta say I never expected to see Mark E and Terrence Fixmer on a record together.

like these. like the space in it. room to breathe in the production, which is kind of a nice change. some of these slomos tend to fill up all empty space with, like, compressed air. it gets a bit thick sometimes.

andrew m., Saturday, 28 January 2012 04:11 (twelve years ago) link

not sure its ever been confirmed, but i've always assumed pop & eye is the same as tiger & woods

⚓ (gr8080), Saturday, 28 January 2012 04:27 (twelve years ago) link

Same with cleo and patra. If they're someone else then I wanna know who.

Who knew a Boys Noize track could be turned into something so brilliant?

boxedjoy, Saturday, 28 January 2012 20:40 (twelve years ago) link

goddamn this suzanne kraft ep on running back nails this slo mo disco thing, such a grower

yeah it's awesome. Turning is my favorite but Morning Come is good too.

I think I finally "get" Tiger & Woods although I still wish Gin Nation had half as much buildup and twice as much payoff

(maybe that statement means I don't really get Tiger & Woods. Gin Nation is pretty dope though. I should hear more.)

I'm diggin this

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YTwFTXsIdSs

doesn't 100% fit the thread as it's more like nu-italo but the BPMs are low so ... here ya go

dmr, Thursday, 2 February 2012 22:03 (twelve years ago) link

ridiculous video

dmr, Thursday, 2 February 2012 22:04 (twelve years ago) link

I just did a mix of some stuff in this range, when I DJ I've even been pitching everything down to 110-116bpm. Anything over 120 is starting to sound shockingly fast.

Dead Rose's "Bad Desire" (Springsteeeeen edit, duh) off a Kolour LTD comp from last Feb. is a nice one, but really overshadowed by Cole Medina's massive "True 2 The Disco" on the other side.

andrew m., Tuesday, 6 March 2012 15:13 (twelve years ago) link

...which I've already gushed on in this thread apparently

andrew m., Tuesday, 6 March 2012 15:14 (twelve years ago) link

say whaaaaaaa?! the Cole Medina is good, but "Bad Desire" is instant classic, easily one of my favs of last year

xpost

Have 6th Borough/The Revenge produced anything of note in the past year or so? I didn't find anything too impressive on the Soundcloud page.

viborg, Friday, 30 March 2012 14:50 (twelve years ago) link

Well, both of them released full lengths. Sadly those haven't been especially remarkable.

EDB, Friday, 30 March 2012 15:44 (twelve years ago) link

U Crazy - both albums were awesome!! Reekin'Structions was completely fantastic....

mikebee (BATTAGS), Friday, 30 March 2012 23:27 (twelve years ago) link

i would say mark e's works vol 1 & 2 absolutely slaughter the revenge and 6th borough's efforts, and that neither album lives up to their earlier singles

anyway i was more into "one night in the borough" but in the end i thought it was forgettable except for "belvide beat"

the late great, Friday, 30 March 2012 23:44 (twelve years ago) link

Which was on Stone Breaker?

du mein bestie (micarl), Saturday, 31 March 2012 00:32 (twelve years ago) link

oh snap, "belvide beat" was on stone breaker (mark e) not the sixth borough project album

i guess they were both forgettable
