Hi Sarah I was going to tell you something but I forgot it again.

n/a, Thursday, 27 September 2007 15:28 (sixteen years ago) link

Oh yeah it was that I think maybe the repost limit on Craigslist is 48 hours, not a week, so I might be able to repost my ad tonight.

n/a, Thursday, 27 September 2007 15:28 (sixteen years ago) link

Not very interesting I guess.

n/a, Thursday, 27 September 2007 15:29 (sixteen years ago) link

I think I need more coffee.

n/a, Thursday, 27 September 2007 15:29 (sixteen years ago) link

It IS interesting, Nick!! I was actually wondering that this morning!

OMG!

Wow!

(The silliness is directed at myself, not you.)

Jesse, Thursday, 27 September 2007 15:32 (sixteen years ago) link

I have a ton of shit to put on Craigslist. I should actually use Chicago thread to sell things too!

Jesse, Thursday, 27 September 2007 15:32 (sixteen years ago) link

I am drinking a cup of half-caff. Made it myself. Not too bad. I need extra lift, because I stayed up too late contemplating the potential ramifications of drinking bottled water, and Article I, Section 8, Clause 3.

kenan, Thursday, 27 September 2007 15:34 (sixteen years ago) link

what are you selling??

river wolf, Thursday, 27 September 2007 15:34 (sixteen years ago) link

I have been trying to venture out to other threads more often, but this morning was a total disaster, so I'm stuck just waiting for posts on the Chi thread I suppose.
O_o

KitCat, Thursday, 27 September 2007 15:42 (sixteen years ago) link

A disaster how?

Btw, I was out of Roastaroma tea earlier this week but went to Whole Foods last night to stock up. Damn, it's good. I might make another cup when I'm done with this one.

jaymc, Thursday, 27 September 2007 15:43 (sixteen years ago) link

Yeah Sarah I don't know what disaster you're talking about. You have to remember that not that many people are on ILX at 9 a.m.

n/a, Thursday, 27 September 2007 15:46 (sixteen years ago) link

I'm just being dumb.
Either people weren't responding to my posts (ie: I was making threads fall off the front page) or they were disagreeing with me (ie: saying that having a nalgene bottle at your desk is equivalent to coming to work in hiking boots).

I be sensitive.

KitCat, Thursday, 27 September 2007 15:48 (sixteen years ago) link

But that was just gabbneb, right? He's weird, anyone will tell you that.

n/a, Thursday, 27 September 2007 15:49 (sixteen years ago) link

saying that having a nalgene bottle at your desk is equivalent to coming to work in hiking boots

I think we all know that Gabbneb is cray-cray.
xpost

jaymc, Thursday, 27 September 2007 15:49 (sixteen years ago) link

I occasionally have a Nalgene at my desk.

During winter I wear hiking boots to work.

People are fucking stupid. I hate this board sometimes.

dan m, Thursday, 27 September 2007 15:50 (sixteen years ago) link

yeah, gabbneb says all kinds of shit, don't make it true. History has shown.

kenan, Thursday, 27 September 2007 15:50 (sixteen years ago) link

1. It's not 9 AM all over the world.

2. Kenan, shut up.

3. I should probably have a yard sale. Maybe we could all go in on a yard sale like Courtney and I did with Jenny and Jeff when we moved from NC!

Jesse, Thursday, 27 September 2007 15:51 (sixteen years ago) link

I met him once. I was VERY VERY drunk though.

I would be up for this yard salin'. The last one at our house was not very successful, but YOURS WILL BE!

KitCat, Thursday, 27 September 2007 15:52 (sixteen years ago) link

1. People are fucking stupid. I hate this board the internet sometimes.

2. People are fucking stupid. I hate this board people sometimes.

Better.

Jesse, Thursday, 27 September 2007 15:53 (sixteen years ago) link

Ha ha -- "this people"

Jesse, Thursday, 27 September 2007 15:53 (sixteen years ago) link

all this people

dan m, Thursday, 27 September 2007 15:53 (sixteen years ago) link

I'm selling :

- old crappy bike
- humidifier
- baking dishes
- futon frame
- things I can't remember, but that are stacked up by my TV

Jesse, Thursday, 27 September 2007 15:54 (sixteen years ago) link

You should have it soon before yard sale season ends.

John, would you please please say cray-cray next time I see you?

KitCat, Thursday, 27 September 2007 15:55 (sixteen years ago) link

When did you/we meet gabbneb? Was he at the July 4 NYC FAP?

n/a, Thursday, 27 September 2007 15:56 (sixteen years ago) link

2. Kenan, shut up.

whoa, what? Who am I irritating now?

kenan, Thursday, 27 September 2007 15:58 (sixteen years ago) link

Yes I will.

jaymc, Thursday, 27 September 2007 15:58 (sixteen years ago) link

I think by the time you guys have a yard sale, I'll have already thrown away or donated the things in my apartment that I could've sold.

jaymc, Thursday, 27 September 2007 15:59 (sixteen years ago) link

Hmmm. I just walked by the office where all 3 attys. are meeting w/ a sexual harassment client (plaintiff) and I heard the assoc. say "maybe Jesse!" and everyone laughed.

Jesse, Thursday, 27 September 2007 16:00 (sixteen years ago) link

I'm just kidding, Kenan! HUGGLEZZZZZZZZZZzzzzzz....

Jesse, Thursday, 27 September 2007 16:00 (sixteen years ago) link

I be sensitive, too. That's lack of sleep + more awake than my body has any natural inclination to be.

Would I sound stupid if I admit that I have never heard of a nalgene? I mean, I googled it, it's all cool now, but this morning was my first encounter with that brand/word.

kenan, Thursday, 27 September 2007 16:03 (sixteen years ago) link

Hey. Jody, Lindsay, Lauren, and I are all moving November 1, so I'm guessing we'd all have some stuff for a mid-October yard sale. (And if anyone knows anyone who would like to live in our arty lofty space, act fast because it's getting shown around already.)

New Piano guy from the U.P. sounds like a piano playa.

Eazy, Thursday, 27 September 2007 16:06 (sixteen years ago) link

Kenan doesn't know any hippies or ski/hike/backpack dudes.

Jordan, Thursday, 27 September 2007 16:06 (sixteen years ago) link

i don't know

nalgene is a household name for me, to the point where ANY reusable drinking vessel can be referred to as a "nalgene." but that's outdoorsy stuff. also, maybe if you were a lab scientist you would be familiar with nalgene.

river wolf, Thursday, 27 September 2007 16:07 (sixteen years ago) link

Lab Scientist: "Hold on dude, let me fill up my Pyrex."

dan m, Thursday, 27 September 2007 16:08 (sixteen years ago) link

Apparently the concept of Nalgene has not filtered down to the Sitting-On-Your-Ass-A-Lot community.

kenan, Thursday, 27 September 2007 16:08 (sixteen years ago) link

I think I know why the attys were laughing. We're going to hold a "focus group" (mock trial) and I'm going to play the part of the harasser.

Jesse, Thursday, 27 September 2007 16:08 (sixteen years ago) link

xpost But we are millions strong! Our voices will be heard!

kenan, Thursday, 27 September 2007 16:08 (sixteen years ago) link

jesse, does your humidifier work? how much do you want for it?

sisut, Thursday, 27 September 2007 16:09 (sixteen years ago) link

Apparently it has also not filtered down to British fancypants. xp re Nalgene

Laurel, Thursday, 27 September 2007 16:09 (sixteen years ago) link

and I'm going to play the part of the harasser

a stretch. This'll be like when Dennis Hopper played the nut in Apocalypse Now. :)

kenan, Thursday, 27 September 2007 16:09 (sixteen years ago) link

Apparently the concept of Nalgene has not filtered down to the Sitting-On-Your-Ass-A-Lot community.

Au contraire, I own one.

n/a, Thursday, 27 September 2007 16:10 (sixteen years ago) link

my humidifier works. my parents bought it and used it once last winter, but discovered they hate humidity.

It was originally $80-something (?- tag still on it)and I got it for free so I dunno. I'll give you a friend price.

Jesse, Thursday, 27 September 2007 16:11 (sixteen years ago) link

yay! i would like to reserve it. my throat gets all dry and sore in the winters. and i'm supposed to be singing again, if i don't have polyps on my vocal chords. but that's a different conversation.

sisut, Thursday, 27 September 2007 16:14 (sixteen years ago) link

katie asked first, but that reminds me... i really need a humidifier this winter. I had prune fingers for four months last winter.

kenan, Thursday, 27 September 2007 16:14 (sixteen years ago) link

prune fingers? are you sure you don't need a DE-humidifier?

Jesse, Thursday, 27 September 2007 16:15 (sixteen years ago) link

Katie, I'll let you see it first. It's not your typical humidifier.

ACT-ually!! I have TWO humidifiers. So you can choose.

Price --- make me an offer? $20?

Jesse, Thursday, 27 September 2007 16:16 (sixteen years ago) link

prune fingers? are you sure you don't need a DE-humidifier?

very. Not puffy bathtub prune fingers, old-man paper-skin prune fingers. Kind of upsetting.

kenan, Thursday, 27 September 2007 16:22 (sixteen years ago) link

That's not prune fingers.

Jesse, Thursday, 27 September 2007 16:24 (sixteen years ago) link

prunes are not papery. dates, maybe. or onions.

Jesse, Thursday, 27 September 2007 16:25 (sixteen years ago) link

hello, i just got up. damn this not being able to sleep at night thing.

sarah, were they my CAT boots? if so, i LOVE them. the sole is starting to come away from the leather after 2 winters, so i may try to get them fixed if possible because they are so comfy and i think they're cute. of course, i've never seen them in stores again and it took a lot of work to track that one pair down.

also, my chococat nalgene is so not hiking gear.
