The one about the lawyers makes maybe the least sense of any of these so far.

it makes perfect sense because there are no Republican lawyers. all lawyers are Democrats.

dmr, Thursday, 24 May 2007 22:28 (sixteen years ago) link

Right? SO WEIRD. As if lawyers don't fight for both lefty causes and righty ones. Does he think the ACLU invented law or something?

I'm not entirely sure how the Cuban medical system is mainlining lies into the guy.

How could a Cuban do anything BUT lie? And how could Michael Moore do anything but believe in communism?

This one makes me laugh, just for the insinuation that Harry Reid is the Joker:

hahahahaha

elmo argonaut, Friday, 25 May 2007 16:58 (sixteen years ago) link

roffle roffle at our very own personalised anti-hotlinking image. If only mr steve had been so creative.

Pashmina, Friday, 25 May 2007 16:59 (sixteen years ago) link

The question is, which BRC will be the next to do this? I doubt anyone of the others have enough of a sense of humour...

Neil S, Friday, 25 May 2007 17:01 (sixteen years ago) link

our anti-hotlink image needs some glitter animations

elmo argonaut, Friday, 25 May 2007 17:02 (sixteen years ago) link

That really is awesome! I hope he's read the thread rather than just checked where all the page views are coming from. Whatever his politics a cartoonist has to make sure his visuals get their message across, and Faithmouse seems to be one of the least clear (it's not helped by the drawing style).

Anyway, Dan Lacey, welcome! Please respond to criticism and start a dialogue with us!

Mark C, Friday, 25 May 2007 17:03 (sixteen years ago) link

that faithmouse thing makes me so happy!!

dan lacey u so cracey

I'm waiting with bated breath for Day By Day to do the same.

righteousmaelstrom, Friday, 25 May 2007 17:05 (sixteen years ago) link

hasn't he posted here before? or am I getting ILX confused with one of several other forums where I've seen him show up, Derek Smart-style, to respond to discussions of his work?

xpost Dan Lacey, I mean

bernard snowy, Friday, 25 May 2007 17:07 (sixteen years ago) link

Lacey showed up on SA, but not here(yet).

Y'know, there's probably a joke or an irony to be made from the whole "dead servicemen" and "cheap gasoline" thing, but there ya go.

kingfish, Friday, 25 May 2007 17:36 (sixteen years ago) link

I'm not seeing the anti-hotlink....?

very top cartoon on the thread used to be an illegal immigrants cartoon, now it is a rainbow mouse saluting that says "come with me to the land of batshit rightwing cartoonists"

it's about 3 places in the thread

dmr, Friday, 25 May 2007 17:43 (sixteen years ago) link

OMG, right that. Wow.

forksclovetofu, Friday, 25 May 2007 17:49 (sixteen years ago) link

i mean, yeah, they're mad cute, but where does jesus enter the picture?? is there some sea mammal celibacy movement?

The current DbD storyline is apparently mocking the librul media bare-midriffed chick for getting sick on the C-130 flight into Iraq, 'cuz libruls are pussies and get airsick, y'see.

Don't believe me?

kingfish, Friday, 25 May 2007 18:11 (sixteen years ago) link

How does anti-hotlinking work? Can you set it to be a certain image if a certain site looks at it, or are there rightwing Xtian Faithmouse-fan forums out there that are now plastered with this image?

V, Friday, 25 May 2007 18:19 (sixteen years ago) link

It isn't an 'anti-hotlink'; I just thought it would look cool at the top of your thread.

I'm a regular at
Portal of Evil and I also post at a number of other forums as well.

Thanks for posting.

Holy shit, this is a first. Now we only need to get Chris Muir on here, and have him start babbling on about under-reported black-on-white crime.

http://www.xentrik.net/htaccess/hotlinking.php

you can set up certain things in your .htaccess file to redirect remote calls for files.

Altho, as a personal note to Dan Lacey:

Dan, every tho the vast majority of us on this board have rather sharp differences with you in terms of politics, worldview, systematic causation, & whatnot, to put it bluntly: at least you can fuckin' draw, a skill sorely lacking in some of your compatriots who have far better syndication deals.

kingfish, Saturday, 26 May 2007 07:01 (sixteen years ago) link

Do we have to fall all over ourselves trying to praise Faithmouse now that he's flattered us with an anti-hotlink graphic? Last I checked he was still peddling half-truths, extremely blurry logic, an obsession with the diabolical ACLU, "Terri Schiavo's murder," and art which, while clean in its linework, is painfully jumbled in its composition. Half the cartoons don't even make sense! I can't even figure out if he's a rabid Catholic or a rabid anti-Catholic bigot. These are not good cartoons, people. He's the guy everybody in high school said was "such a great artist."
