you know the irish journalist guy is the author of the how-to-seduce-a-whale FAQ, right

Can't wait for an elephant seal to eat that guy in an ironic tragedy of Treadwellian proportions.

pullapartsquirrel (Jenny), Monday, 3 October 2011 12:18 (twelve years ago) link

Or just crush the life out of him!

Isn't there a "TS: drowning v. being crushed to death" thread? Definitely would choose "crushed to death by loving seal" over many other ways to go.

Je55e, Monday, 3 October 2011 14:58 (twelve years ago) link

Tough call. Being crushed sounds unpleasant.

I just spent way to much time thinking of a Giles Corey joke. How about I just say:

"More seals!"

pullapartsquirrel (Jenny), Monday, 3 October 2011 15:26 (twelve years ago) link

Weird, I was just thinking about The Crucible this morning.

I dread asking you why you are writing in the past tense though...

Young Swell (Le Bateau Ivre), Tuesday, 4 October 2011 13:59 (twelve years ago) link

Artie passed away at the end of July. He was five. He was a cool little guy, had loads of personality, loved to chase chickens. I miss him very much.

I always take a lot of photos and video of my pets but never with the idea that they are all little tragedies in waiting. When they finally leave earth, I am always surprised at the collection of images I am left with. It is a habit I hope I never grow out of. I do the same with friends and family.

That's kind of awful. Just give me the cats, please.

emil.y, Thursday, 6 October 2011 13:07 (twelve years ago) link

My three ex co-workers would have stuff like this in their cubes.

*tera, Thursday, 6 October 2011 14:34 (twelve years ago) link

Aw I was hoping "six packs nine lives" would be: you buy a six pack of beer, part of it funds a kitty in need. That fits more with my preferences.

Honest to God that was my first thought too. I read six packs and thought beer not muscles. Shows where my priorities lie, I guess.

Correctly imo

I want a dog SO. FUCKING. BAD. Today I took the office dog to the dog park and a little sassy, scrappy terrier mix came up and did that play-engagement stomping thing with her front paws, and the Molly (office dog) gave her a "whatchu talkin' 'bout Willis?" face and barked, and then the terrier ran his crazy little ass off and started teasing a black lab. The black lab ignored the terrier and went to the doggie drinking fountain and started digging. What was going through his head?? It was awesome - he dug and dug and bailed out tons of water. Then a cute guy carried his young Boston terrier out and I heard him crooning, "OK buddy, it's time to get your shot! You know what that is? You ain't gonna like it."

I grew a womb and ovaries and impregnated myself on the spot b/c I'm gay-baby crazy. Someone get me a fucking chihuahua right fucking now!

Someone get Je55e a chihuahua!!!!!!!!

I'm pretty much guaranteed to be dogless or the foreseeable future. I won't have a dog as long as I live alone b/c I am away from home for long hours, and it wouldn't be fair to the dog. But there is no fucking way I'm going to live with a roommate unless a terrible financial or medical crisis gives me no other choice. The only real path to my having a dog is to bag a husband.

Je55e, Sunday, 9 October 2011 15:34 (twelve years ago) link

One of the (horribly few) good things about unemployment is that I get to spend so much time with my dog that he's started taking me for granted.

trapdoor fucking spiders (dowd), Sunday, 9 October 2011 17:36 (twelve years ago) link

Someone get Je55e a husband!!!!!! Stat! Yes, the roommate thing is a bad idea, did it twice and blehk, never again, just the furry four legged types now.

dowd: that is the best actually.

This is like, the entire tragedy of the human condition summarized in one post. I feel you...

And that's not even including the paradox factor of requiring an adorable puppy to reel in a spouse in the first place.
