isn't the Warriors based on the Anabasis by Xenophon? it is therefore CLASSIC.

the ducky boys, the wongs, the del-bombers...all much cooler than Cyrus.

This is truly difficult. The football field fight scene vs. The Ducky Boys was better than any single fight scene within the Warriors.

But, the Baseball Furies are after all, the MOTHERFUCKIN' Baseball Furies!

The Warriors. At least this summer.

The Baseball Furies might look tough, but like four of the Warriors manage to beat the living shit out of them within minutes. Only one of them (the little guy) gets double-teamed; meanwhile James Remar is crackin' them upside the head with their own bats.

Don't fuck with the Wongs! I watched the Wanderers this weekend, in fact i bought it on DVD for $14. Dolph Sweet is quite funny in it. "You like Clams? I'll take us all out for clams, I ain't no hard guy!"

eleven months pass...
Tough one, since both were good flicks.

The Warriors has the dubious distinction of having both one of the worst and best fight scenes in movie history.

Worst: the fight with the Baseball Furies wouldn't have went down like that. The rest of the Furies wouldn't have just stood around watching Ajax beat up their leader - they would've swarmed The Warriors and beat 'em down with sheer numbers.

Best: the fight with The Punks in the bathroom stalls was fuckin' awesome! Realistic, hard-hitting action. Worth seeing again (and again).

As far as The Wanderers go, I still think The Ducky Boys would've won the football field fight, regardless of the presence of all the other gangs. IMHO.

Later ...

Remember that scene where they tied the string aroung the guys wieners! That scene made me laugh very hard! They were expecting that the rocks would yank their wieners off! But they were wrong!

I know that the chief gang leader's name is Cyrus and the Warriors have to fight their way to the sea but is there anything else to this? Also, what were they implying by naming the all-girl group the Lizzies?
