There are many albums I'd like bands to re-record live...

There are many albums that bands have re-recorded live.

There are many albums I'd like bands to erase.

wait, so what if we already own a copy of the existing version on vinyl (which i do)? does that mean those ones are going to be worth lots of money someday?

It's an interesting concept, and the first time we've heard of different recordings for each format

don't like to mention it, but the new tMG album is two different versions of (mostly) the same songs, home-recorded on LP & studio-recorded on CD

chuck, guard it with your life! i don't know how many they made, but it couldn't have been that many. it will definitely be worth money.

StanM, Monday, 6 June 2005 06:07 (eighteen years ago) link

something tells me the value of white stripes lps is not going to appreciate in the medium or long term. sell! sell! sell!

N_RQ, Monday, 6 June 2005 08:47 (eighteen years ago) link

given that the "new" white stripes album will be going for £4 in the MVE bargain basement by the end of summer, they might as well release it on eight-track cartridge.

im actually surprised the WS havent yet released anything on 78. i would have thought that would have happened ages ago, what with their love for 'pure' blues and musical museum pieces.

Apparently they're going to re-record the album as a player piano roll. Listeners can have fun punching additional holes in the roll at random and see how "goofy" this makes the music sound!

Marcello Carlin (nostudium), Monday, 6 June 2005 09:06 (eighteen years ago) link

apparently theyre going to dispense with recordings of any sort so anyone that wants to hear it can call a number and have the stripes arrive in their living room to play it live!

On one-string tea-chest bass and washboard!
