Saso - "Bloodbath". wtf is with the long Seinfeld sample? this always perplexed me.

That 2-step version of "Sometimes It Snows In April" aswell... It's not a bad track though. I actually think it does manage too keep *some* of the original's ultra-melancholy, which of course only makes it more bizarre.

I like "Gimme Some More" by Busta Rhymes, which uses the theme from "Psycho" by Bernard Herrman.

I'm still puzzled as to how The 45 King got the idea for sampling Dido on "Stan".

I'm still puzzled as to how The 45 King got the idea for sampling Dido on "Stan".

Allegedly, he first heard it in a TV promo for the movie Sliding Doors.
He couldn't source the song, so he waited until the ad was broadcast again and then sampled that, which would account for the slightly grainy sound quality.

he first heard it

By "it" I mean the song "Thank You". I need more coffee.

The Roots' "Water" samples a Flying Lizards track, but I'm not sure which one.

Well, back in '88 it SEEMED bizarre of the Wonder Stuff to sample the voice of Jerry Garcia ("Nobody wants to get hurt. Nobody wants to hurt anybody,") for "Poison", but much less so as the years passed.

DJ Shadow's "Right Thing" from "The Private Press" samples "Disco Duck" by Rick Dees

It's not exactly on point, but can I just mention that vomitastically horrendiferous sax squawk loop that drives J.Lo's new single?

Dungeon Family sampling Tomita's "Snowflakes are Dancing" for "White Gutz" from "Even in Darkness..."
jawdroppingly odd and great.

-- Shakey Mo Collier (audiobo...), March 1st, 2005.

Anti-Pop Consortium samples the same track for very positive results for "Driving In Circles". I love both songs and swear by Ceelo's verse on it when his ability is challenged.

...vomitastically horrendiferous sax squawk loop that drives J.Lo's new single...

which sounds IMPOSSIBLY awful when played on a small radio, as in our office. i thought single choices were partially dictated by how they'd sound on a cheap radio.. apparently not in this case.

Which is by Maceo Parker, btw. From "Soul Power '74," in case you wondered.

On another song from Phrenology, they sample Swing Out Sister's "Break Out"!
