As do I. For the record, I still have the Trek (which I need to sell), the Holdsworth (I should sell it but if I ever get the urge to refurb an oldie, this is probably the one), the Focus (it's done me proud but my mind is wandering, onto something in high-end steel or maybe Ti which I can save up for and spec myself), The Jackson (<3), and the second Felt.

'84-ish BMX (red)'88-ish BMX (want to say malvern star, not sure?) (dark blue, purple five-spoke plastic wheels - this thing was so fly)mid-'80s spectrum 10-speed road borrowed from dad in early '90s (silver)'94 apollo summit MTB ('swirly' metallic blue)'08 apollo forza flat-bar road (metallic blue)09 cannondale caad9 (metallic blue)'10 giant bowery s/s (white/red)'11 specialized crux (red/black)
the 'takeaway' here is that the best bike has always been blue. might restrict my upgrade options somewhat.

Circa 1978: a sky-blue Raleigh(?) Budgie, initially with stabilisershttp://i147.photobucket.com/albums/r299/crunchydog_2006/budgie.jpgEarly 80s: a grey bike called a Speedway (with a number on the front)1983ish: a yellow BMX of some kind1986: a second-hand red 'racer' bought for a fiver (that was not a racing bike by any stretch of the imagination - cheap, nasty, plastic handlebars, sturmey archer 3-speed gears - the other kids at school claimed I'd stolen it off a postman)1987: a new 'racer' (again - cheap, very heavy, foam padding on handlebars, those horrible brakes where you have a second set of levers on the tops and impossible-to-grip metal hoods, mudguards, carrier, five speeds)1988: a blue Peugeot, more for touring than racing, but a few months after I bought I became a racer and had to remove virtually everything from it and cope with its hopelessly wrong gear ratios ('12'-speed, i.e. 10 or maybe 8 because you couldn't cut across) and fat tyres1990: white MBK proper racer (Columbus frame, Campag wheels, Sun Tour indexed gears - woo-hoo!)
1992-2000: Here be dragons
2001: some kind of lunatic disaster 'cut-and-shut' second-hand job bought for next-to-nothing in Italy which appeared to be made out of randome spare parts - used it for commuting for a month or two until it literally fell to pieces2001b: a cheapo hybrid thing bought from an Italian supermarket on a whim - used for commuting until it got stolen2003: a mate's hybrid given away in poor nick2006: an extremely heavy Trek hybrid with mudguards, carrier, bell, chainguard, stand, etc.2008: Kona Zing Deluxe (carbon frame racer, shimano 105 in naff metallic green, chosen on account of the huge discount for buying a model 2 years out of date, rather than for aesthetic reasons) - still in use2009: blue Ribble winter bike (racer with mudguards, shimano tiagra, aluminium frame) - still in use
The 88 and 90 ones can be seen here:WDYYAYBUTLL (what did you and your bike used to look like?)

NBS, with all those heavy bikes in your past it's not surprising you're such a super-well-trained racing machine now!
