Ironmen is another one of those tracks that could have been iconic for any other group but is almost a dime a dozen for Pollard.

Love the vocal delivery on Goldheart and the flute(?) in the background. It does remind me of Tortoise Brand Pot Scrubbing Cleaner though...

Yeah, not much to say once you get up to these top ones. This was on my ballot. It's a good song, my second favorite on Bee Thousand.

GMQD is such a great belter, you know I like those. I didn't vote for any of these though :-/

I like that the DTC youtube wasn't posted. The overwhelming simplicity of the bass and rhythm guitar on that song distracts me to the point of not liking the song at all

I've probably played it on repeat for hours before. It takes me to a warm fuzzy land that I don't mind zoning out to

Love how drawn out the phrasing is on 'Smothered', would have been in the 20-30 range for me.

Frankly I'm amazed at the number of high-placing songs that I don't know. I mean, I thought I knew the GBV'iverse pretty well, but 'Jill Hives', 'If We Wait' and 'Brides Have Hit Glass' are all new to me.

I have to say that 'Jill Hives' is very lovely, though.

I think this is one of the first GBV songs I ever heard, because they were playing a live session on a Dutch radio show and I can't imagine them not playing 'Scientist'.

The day after the broadcast I got the album, together with Weezer's blue album. Oh 1994...
