it is. and his older stuff, which is now available on bandcamp, is just as good.

new stuff has a very different sound. abandons 50s vibe in favor of something more electro-y, maybe? certainly more propulsive. sax is distinctive on these new cuts.

cool dude but i kind of hate this stuff, makes u realize there was a reason 50's musicians were confident and poised and perfect and endearing rather than mumbly and volatile

the old material he put out on various cassette-only labels (e.g., night-people; italian beach babes) is now available on bandcamp. it's also outstanding.

Man. "Dune Walker" sounds like Iggy Pop and Steve McKay over a seriously reduced, almost fried Basic Channel track. And then the guitar starts.

This new album is incredible.

Just heard the August At Akiko's soundtrack and finding it difficult to believe this is the same guy. Some really nice jazz improv here. Was there talk about this album somewhere I might have missed? Also is it weird that Factory released this?
