i mean i really there there is too much said about "classics" and "investment pieces" and "quality construction" wrt #menswear but i think that buy is all those things & totally justifiable

that navy suit came in -- it's super nice and the jacket fits perfectly in the shoulders. phew. i'll obviously need to take it to a tailor -- I need the pants hemmed and the sleeves lengthened, maybe I'll have the trouser legs tapered a little and the waist suppressed, but all in all it's exactly the sort of starter suit i've been looking for.

i wish i had occasion to wear more suits. only wear them about twice a year (weddings, prom).
yeah, i don't have much occasion either. my only existing suit was an emergency funeral purchase, which was fine but not quite good enough. i like that this new suit is a true navy blue and not just a flat midnight blue -- just bright enough to stay youthful without being too bold.
