Zing Touch: ILX now ON IPHONE (and ipod tooches too)

yo stet i have noticed lately that when clicking the safari logo in a post launches the WHOLE THREAD in safari, when iirc it used to load the permalink of the post you were coming from?

I haven't changed anything my end; I wonder if Safari has changed. You do have to be logged in on ILX in Safari before it'll work, though -- the auto-login strips the message. And it only works with pint Zing; Zing Lite just opens the thread.

Pint zing is red, and I buy a pint (or a Crunchie) when a copy gets sold. I also add you to my list of heroes. Lite Zing is blue and free.

Oh. In that case, I am a proud and pleased owner of Zing Pint, but I did not know it was called that.

hmmm ok i just tried again-- def login in to ILX on safari, and it just took me to the whole thread, not the permalink i was coming from. seems really intermittent, cant figure out why its working in some instances and not in others.

not really a big deal, just figured it was something you'd want to know that was happening.

It is happening to me, too.

Something weird is happening. Zing Touch won't allow me to read the gay thread. It just won't open - the little spinning wheel stops, but on the bottom it gets stuck on "Loading" but no messages load. All other threads open fine, and the error happens under all circumstances I've tested: 3G, wifi, many and few unread messages.

I'm updating to iOS5 now, so maybe that will take care of the problem.

Yeah, it had a weird character iirc. Zing is delicate.

The GOP presidential candidates thread has been doing that for me as well on Zing. Odd.

I really think you should stop reading the GOP presidential candidates thread then.

yeah I've had that same issue with the GOP candidate thread and i think the "david foster wallace: classic or dud" thread as well.

I usually think of Zing being my guardian angel in both of these cases.

I just tried the gay thread from both the board and the bookmark and it didn't work either way.

I am still on iOS4, btw. Ran into a snag last night and put it off.

By the way, I thought at one time there was a thread that had the same sort of function as this one, but for ILX, not just Zing. It was a sort of wish list/discussion/place to report problems. I can't find it now. Was there ever such a thing?

I've been wanting to say there that it would be awesome if regular ILX was more like Zing Touch in some ways, including the formatting buttons and....I forget. There are other things. Oh! Yes, the quote button!

got it! i didn't realize we were still on the beta.ilxor server, so i changed it back to the old one

i'm still having the problem i mentioned a few posts up (i can read posts, but i can't make my own, and my bookmarks don't work). the instance is set at ILX, the username and pw are the same as always, and i've tried both http://beta.ilxor.com and http://www.ilxor.com as the servers.

not sure if this helps, but i never had the problem until we switched to the sandbox and i adjusted my zing settings accordingly.

Kill your zing instance and restart?

Or just delete Zing and reinstall. Are you sure you don't have a trailing slash on the server? (eg com/ instead of com)
