Lou Reed: Metallica collaboration is 'best thing I ever did'

Ha, so it turns out writer Chris Roberts linked that story on FB and mentioned he's involved with the PR to some degree, so in response to a question from a mutual friend about the album itself, Chris said: "It's very very strange, a love/hate marmite scenario, 90 mins long and...uncompromising. I'll just say that much for now."

Ned Raggett, Wednesday, 31 August 2011 14:10 (twelve years ago) link

I mean, in all honesty, this thing has jumped to the top of my most anticipated albums of the next six months. I know its going to be an awful mess, but, I need to hear this.

Well now I'm just thinking of the Soft Cell song.

Ned Raggett, Thursday, 1 September 2011 23:15 (twelve years ago) link

No semen to mix with the blood on this album cover?

jon /via/ chi 2.0, Friday, 2 September 2011 02:55 (twelve years ago) link

they filled the quota for its use on album art covers in 1996 and now no one can ever do that again

markers, Friday, 2 September 2011 03:02 (twelve years ago) link

i am slightly harrowed by that album cover

m0stlyClean, Friday, 2 September 2011 03:23 (twelve years ago) link

funny, track 2 of this record has just been revealed
2. Slightly Harrowed

tylerw, Friday, 2 September 2011 04:28 (twelve years ago) link

I'm slightly encouraged by the presence of Hal Willner on this record.

A. Begrand, Friday, 2 September 2011 05:35 (twelve years ago) link

I'll bet there's an autotune track. Some blubcore.

Death To False Camp (Doran), Friday, 2 September 2011 06:04 (twelve years ago) link

Holy shit @that cover

i hope that's about what it should be about

markers, Saturday, 3 September 2011 01:40 (twelve years ago) link

yeah, i imagine that's telling the stories of the various View co-hosts to the tune of "walk on the wild side"?

Not feeling these new titles tbh. Side 2 is still all killer though.

Geirge Hongriot (NickB), Monday, 5 September 2011 10:24 (twelve years ago) link

Don't Cheat On Me would've been much better.

Siegbran, Monday, 5 September 2011 11:40 (twelve years ago) link

these titles are amazing

markers, Monday, 5 September 2011 16:49 (twelve years ago) link

i really think the album should be retitled "frustration" though

markers, Monday, 5 September 2011 16:55 (twelve years ago) link

"Dragon" has got me pumped. Come on, you know that you wanted a song called "Dragon" on this album.

Badmotorfinger Debate Club (MFB), Tuesday, 6 September 2011 00:42 (twelve years ago) link

I'd be more psyched if it was "Junior Dragon"

EZ Snappin, Tuesday, 6 September 2011 00:52 (twelve years ago) link

The track running times for this thing have been released, and it adds up to 87 minutes and change, so I guess it's a 2CD set. "Junior Dad" is 19:28 or thereabouts.

that's not funny. (unperson), Tuesday, 6 September 2011 19:06 (twelve years ago) link
