Less than a minute after he passed, some green liquid spilled out of his mouth and nose. The vet and her assistant wiped it off the table with another towel and explained that it was the stomach bile coming out from his insides. Poor guy had probably been wanting to throw up for some time, but was too weak from the mass that had formed around his stomach.
Dead bodies do strange things immediately after the life leaves it. Sometimes they twitch. Sometimes stuff comes out. It wasn't scary though and it certainly didn't ruin any "moment" that was taking place. But it's something that can happen when you euthanize an animal. I didn't want to gross anyone out, but it's still a part of what happened yesterday.
