Self-banning: what is ilx policy on this?

longest i have gone w/out posting to ilx since i started = 4 months
longest i have gone w/out a cigarette since i started smoking = 20 hrs

I don't begrudge or judge people who self-ban but I don't get it myself. I've had a few "fuck this shit I'm leaving ilx" moments but I just stop posting quietly. idk, maybe I just have a super capacity for self-discipline.

if someone can develop a sb system that will keep me from smoking for 30 days, i would probably be a much healthier person

people talk about not-posting to this worthless hole where people wring hands about "The Weeknd" and big-up "Girl Wut Slugs" like its quitting smoking

I have self-banned by not posting and self-banned by requesting to be actually banned from the site. I relied on the latter when part of the reason for my self ban was that I was about to embark on some deadline-heavy, stressful, boring bullshit at work and I knew there was no way I could just not post because ILX, for better or worse, is often the antidote to my stressful, boring job.

I love the mods though!

i self-ban on a regular basis thru the medium of "disliking most of ilx". ironically ur not included: if u only had some erudite, interesting, but entirely rong opinions on rap then one of us would be the other's evil twin. this is something u just have to face up to.

The ENBB thing is nothing to do with me, I still think people who self-request bans should get one self-control but that's just me and not official mod policy.

I agree, tbh I found the hand-wriging when E asked for one to be more than a little ... it made me squirm slightly.
