It's just such a white-hot burning RAVE MONSTER when it peaks. But what it does have, is that odd squiggly, jacking Derrick May-esque FUNK, along with the headbanging... and thats why I think I (at it's best) LOVE this, but feel almost nothing for the similarly "full on" sounds of Vitalic.

"Suckfish" is also a far more minimal record, building up to its RAVE MONSTER moments in very different (and less obvious) ways.

(one of the many reasons why I prefer Audion to the hands in the air style of Vitalic)

Kisses and The Pong, the title tracks are both great, the b-sides not really memorable

on the Just Fucking 12" the b-side is a Roman Flugel mix that I like better than the original

I'm probably going to have to retract some or all of the less complimentary things I said about this... it's growing on me all the time. And far more fulfilling as a full length than that little megamix I had (which itself, took an age to worm it's way into eventual constant rotation).

I fucking love how raw & ripped sounding it is, whether in the textures or the sudden bursts of noise or just the rhythms. I've been sorely missing that in a lot of softly-softly electrohouse 'dance' (but I still like Kompakt!, this isn't trying to join in with the techno purist snobbery backlash... just a feeling I've had that I can be more certain of now). Yeah, this is a really good record I think! (belated) Top Ten '05 contender perhaps.

It's actually very deceptive, I hadn't noticed how densely layered and changeable it actually is on the non-single tracks. That's taken a good four or five listens to come out properly.

So then, the Audion Fabric mix!

Any thoughts yet?

It strikes me as strange that this is a release as Audion, as it's far less upfront and 'sexual' than Suckfish and it's singles were.

perhaps to protect innocent, throw the lawyers off the scent, etc

dude was not great last night. his lack of subtlety or variation got old fast. the shining moment that was ame-rej only made the rest sound more unimaginative.

Good to know. I was thinking of catching him tonight in SF, but I know how Mr. Dear can be (Zzzzzzz).

But what it does have, is that odd squiggly, jacking Derrick May-esque FUNK

finally hearing this in tracks like "your place or mine"

"Look At The Moon" is really exciting here where I'm sitting.

What other Audion stuff in, oh, say the last year?
