I don't know why but I was under the impression that this was going to be an animated thing, like with actual cartoon cats rather than hellbeast cat/human hybrids. I guess because...that makes more sense? And might've actually been semi-appealing? I...I don't know how you spend so much time and money making something like this without at some point conceding that you're doing something unholy and should stop.

The whole 'people in shabby cat costumes' thing...I mean, I always just assumed that was for the sake of practicality and expedience in the context of a stage production, not an intentional aesthetic choice that you throw hundreds of millions of dollars behind.

Also, while Satan is surely pleased with what they've created, you figure they almost certainly made a blood offering to the dark lord, as well, to ensure the success of this pantomime of the damned. The question, really, is just how many dozens (hundreds?) of felines lost their lives over the course of birthing this cinematic abomination.

I had little to no knowledge of the source material, but like 80% of the film is like "Let's introduce a cat so we have an excuse to sing a song about that particular cat.

That may be what the play is about too, I don't know for sure!
