oh hay, are there any super secret speedy routes from here to red wing? it looks like the best way is to take 316 until it connects w/ 61 rather than taking 61 all the way (few miles shorter + don't have to slow to 35 through miesville). been budgeting and man i'll need to save on gas once school kicks off on monday...
― arby's, Sunday, 21 August 2011 00:13 (twelve years ago) link
If you like twisty back roads, you could take 316 to Red Wing Blvd, then turn right on Ravenna Trail.
Otherwise yeah, 316 to 61.

Ravenna Trail!!! <3 <3 <3
― Sara R-C, Sunday, 21 August 2011 01:17 (twelve years ago) link
Ok, always will be fond of that road bc that's where McGu1r3 lived.
― Sara R-C, Sunday, 21 August 2011 01:18 (twelve years ago) link
hmm. that doesn't look like it cuts off a ton in terms of mileage but it looks like it could be a nice leisurely drive if i ever leave a little early. my car doesn't like to go a lot faster than 55 so maybe who knows! will probably nix it during the winter, speaking of--do 316 or 61 tend to get better/quicker/preferential treatment during bad winter weather? (i'm worrying a lot lately, but my car and all...)
― arby's, Sunday, 21 August 2011 01:26 (twelve years ago) link
I strongly recommend not going down that road in winter, at least not when jjj is driving
also Sara you know many ppl who lived on RT, like say ME
― Rob Based and DJ EZ God (DJP), Sunday, 21 August 2011 20:31 (twelve years ago) link
Well, yes, of course I love Ravenna Trail because you lived on it, too, deX, but you and I aren't twins! That's you and Scurvy, remember? ;)
― Sara R-C, Sunday, 21 August 2011 23:03 (twelve years ago) link
Also, yes, if John is driving, stay off Ravenna, in fact, just do yourself a favor and offer to drive yourself.
Although if memory serves, John also had a great habit of inadvertently shifting my car into neutral while I was driving all the time.
(I *think* that was inadvertent...)

Okay, super-nostalgia mode again here, Dan, get your butt home so we can hang out again and bring your beautiful wife, too. kthxbye
― Sara R-C, Sunday, 21 August 2011 23:50 (twelve years ago) link
this jjj person sounds dangerous imo
― remembrance of schwings past (gbx), Monday, 22 August 2011 00:05 (twelve years ago) link
He's really quite harmless if you keep him away from cars, tbh
― Sara R-C, Monday, 22 August 2011 01:10 (twelve years ago) link
^ha this could apply to me as well (though bcz i didn't have a license until i was ehm...27, but anway...)
got really sick night before 1st day of class. woke up at 3:00 that morning. and this morning. still sick. long days :[
school is really fun in spite of it all though.
― arby's, Tuesday, 23 August 2011 21:53 (twelve years ago) link
i'd think feeling like the wreck i do i'd be thinking 'the last thing i wanna do is sit and learn about chisels and boards' but turns out that is the first thing i want to do
― arby's, Tuesday, 23 August 2011 21:55 (twelve years ago) link
Sick? What's wrong?! Hope you are getting better...
― Sara R-C, Tuesday, 23 August 2011 22:59 (twelve years ago) link
ty! it's just a nose/throat/achy thing. (+headaches.) but i'm a really finicky sleeper so the laying awake and not breathing all night is really giving the fatigue bit of my symptoms some added weight. as well as exacerbating the rest of them i'm sure. blah blah blah i'm a stupid weak baby
― arby's, Tuesday, 23 August 2011 23:15 (twelve years ago) link
No, that totally sucks, and yes, if you can't get any rest, that does make it worse. :(
Advil PM a possibility? It might help...
― Sara R-C, Wednesday, 24 August 2011 00:55 (twelve years ago) link
deX, you just MADE A's night by inviting him to Spotify. THANK YOU <3 <3 <3
― Sara R-C, Wednesday, 24 August 2011 23:36 (twelve years ago) link
Hooray! That will make up for the 60 other ppl who now hate me
― Rob Based and DJ EZ God (DJP), Thursday, 25 August 2011 01:39 (twelve years ago) link
What did you do to SIXTY people?!
― Sara R-C, Thursday, 25 August 2011 01:43 (twelve years ago) link
And why didn't you ask me to help? ;)
I invited them to Spotify!
When I logged in, it asked me to spam my contact list with invites, so I did.
― Rob Based and DJ EZ God (DJP), Thursday, 25 August 2011 02:36 (twelve years ago) link
Funny. A. was really excited!
― Sara R-C, Thursday, 25 August 2011 10:34 (twelve years ago) link
Yes, I am posting at 5:34 am before leaving for work. Gah, morning. Not a fan.
yeah srsly, i just got up and whew, mornings huh?
― dougie instructor (jjjusten), Thursday, 25 August 2011 15:04 (twelve years ago) link
oh by the way sara i think theres something wrong with your timestamp because according to that you got up 4.5 hours earlier than me, which would be ridiculous
― dougie instructor (jjjusten), Thursday, 25 August 2011 15:17 (twelve years ago) link
i mean im barely holding it together getting up just before 10 am, i cant imagine
― dougie instructor (jjjusten), Thursday, 25 August 2011 15:18 (twelve years ago) link
okay you
btw gonna see a concert version of Porgy and Bess out at Tanglewood tomorrow with nice wine and a picnic dinner prepared by a friend who happens to be a professional chef
― Rob Based and DJ EZ God (DJP), Thursday, 25 August 2011 15:23 (twelve years ago) link
just nice wine?
disappointing.
― dougie instructor (jjjusten), Thursday, 25 August 2011 15:25 (twelve years ago) link
well we have to drive
also I think it might be a no hard liquor zone, I certainly have never seen anyone with anything other than beer or wine, and mostly wine because lol classical music ppl
would be pretty dope to slam back martinis to "My Man's Gone Now" tho (which btw is EASILY the best soprano aria from the opera, "Summertime" is mad overrated)
― Rob Based and DJ EZ God (DJP), Thursday, 25 August 2011 15:27 (twelve years ago) link
i was thinking that you should be having more of a jet-setting fine wine experience, not this adequate wine nonsense
― dougie instructor (jjjusten), Thursday, 25 August 2011 15:30 (twelve years ago) link
ah see, if we get nice wine we can get like 6 bottles
if we get jet-setting fine wine, we can get 1 bottle
surely you can see where this is going
(btw is a bottle per person overdoing it if two of them have to drive)
― Rob Based and DJ EZ God (DJP), Thursday, 25 August 2011 15:34 (twelve years ago) link
only if you are one of the two
― dougie instructor (jjjusten), Thursday, 25 August 2011 15:38 (twelve years ago) link
if you are not then you can hope cooler heads prevail in which case u get 1.5 bottles of wine
here's my current logic:
I have no idea what food is being prepared so I need to get a mix of reds and whites
there are 4 guaranteed ppl, plus 1 floater and 2 potentials (a friend is going with a couple who is planning their own picnic; friend will definitely join us and couple might)
so I am planning on 3 reds, 3 whites with the expectation that 2 will be unopened
also thinking pinot noir, cab sauv and shiraz vs sauv blanc, viognier, gewuertztraminer
― Rob Based and DJ EZ God (DJP), Thursday, 25 August 2011 15:44 (twelve years ago) link
cant help you too much because i have traded in my potential wine skills to hone my fancy beer skills long ago
― dougie instructor (jjjusten), Thursday, 25 August 2011 15:50 (twelve years ago) link
I think that sounds fine, except that usually gewuertztraminer (or however the hell you spell it) is almost always so sweet that it makes me want to hurl. So pick something else.
John, I know you were making fun of my getting up so freaking early, and if I wasn't so freaking exhausted, I would come over there and kill you. As it is, it's just going to have to wait.
― Sara R-C, Thursday, 25 August 2011 22:34 (twelve years ago) link
maybe you wouldnt be so tired if you slept in a little more
― dougie instructor (jjjusten), Thursday, 25 August 2011 22:52 (twelve years ago) link
You know, the worst part is that I woke up at 3:30 and couldn't get back to sleep! UGH
― Sara R-C, Thursday, 25 August 2011 23:03 (twelve years ago) link
No time for an Advil PM by then, you're just screwed.
hey i was up at 3:30 too! but i did it the right way by staying up until then having loads of fun
― dougie instructor (jjjusten), Thursday, 25 August 2011 23:12 (twelve years ago) link
John... man, this sucks, I'm too tired to even put up a modicum of a fight with John.
Now THAT is a poor sign.

I really really wish ppl would stop using me as a barometer of Acceptable Sexism on this board
― now I have to imagine your penis (DJP), Friday, 26 August 2011 01:45 (twelve years ago) link
but you are the barometer of Acceptable Sexism on this board; it's intuitively obvious to the most casual observer
― Sara R-C, Friday, 26 August 2011 02:01 (twelve years ago) link
Also I have no idea what you're referring to bc I'm too tired to even try to look, so I'm just going to slot you into my Barometer of Acceptable Sexism slot and leave you there.
― Sara R-C, Friday, 26 August 2011 02:02 (twelve years ago) link
omg I'm super tired, I hope that didn't sound as bad as I think it might have
saucy
