mcnutty

j., Wednesday, 17 August 2011 09:20 (twelve years ago) link

McNutty did the VO for a nice glossy documentary on street sports shown on Channel 4 on Monday ("Concrete Circus"). Was wracking my brains for the whole programme trying to work out where I knew the voice from!

What's the tally on The Good Wife appearances? Off the top of my head:
Kima
Burrell
Partlow
Boadie
Cutty

Watching series three of Oz at the moment. Lance Reddick's fake Jamaican accent is ridiculous. I'm amazed he wasn't shanked for being an undercover narc within twenty minutes.

A little bit like Peter Crouch but with more mobility (ShariVari), Saturday, 3 September 2011 22:40 (twelve years ago) link

Just saw Nicky Sobotka on The Good Wife.

c("c) (Leee), Sunday, 4 September 2011 00:06 (twelve years ago) link

xp - there's a scene in the Wire where Omar and his bf are watching Oz; forget the season/episode, pretty sure it was a Beecher/Keller scene.

sarahel, Sunday, 4 September 2011 19:30 (twelve years ago) link

nicky sobotka was on weeds too just recently

... and now Carver in the season finale of The Good Wife. You'd think that show would be set in Baltimore instead of Chicago.

Anyone watch the Dominic/Fred West thing then? Not sure what i though of it tbh

Number None, Monday, 5 September 2011 17:31 (twelve years ago) link

It made me laugh.

Sick Mouthy (Scik Mouthy), Monday, 5 September 2011 17:33 (twelve years ago) link

yeah, that's what was weird about it

Number None, Monday, 5 September 2011 17:35 (twelve years ago) link

I thought it was v good. Woman playing Rose was awesome.

nate woolls, Monday, 5 September 2011 18:28 (twelve years ago) link

McNutty was fun in the very gory yet entertaining "Centurion"

Vendo Caramelos A Veces Sin Dinero (Capitaine Jay Vee), Monday, 19 September 2011 12:37 (twelve years ago) link

Probably already mentioned, but I noticed in the four minutes of that awful Jonah Hex movie that I could tolerate, that Lance Reddick is in it and appears to play some sort of Q-type character.

McNulty as Fred West

He was good, the programme started off OK and got gradually more terrible

Juice Should Be Sterliized (Tom D.), Monday, 19 September 2011 13:29 (twelve years ago) link

My wife bought me the Blu-Ray Star Wars set and so I got to see the deleted scene where McNulty gets a line of dialog!

dominic west was _really_ good as iago! he does a credible sheffield accent (lol eton) and when he is lying (which happens a lot in othello) he breaks out his weird lying face (perfected in season 5)

He was actually born there but, yeah, I imagine any Sheffield accent would not have survived Eton

Juice Should Be Sterliized (Tom D.), Monday, 26 September 2011 10:46 (twelve years ago) link

And then he went to Trinity. Poor accent never had a chance.

Number None, Monday, 26 September 2011 10:54 (twelve years ago) link

i think that's part of why he was cast. pretty sure he's done the crucible before. he was the only one doing a non-RSC accent except peters, who was doing the same accent as morgan freeman in robin hood prince of thieves

omar was on law & order this week
This past week I watched like 8 various Law & Orders at various times and ALL of them had Wire actors in them somewhere. Nick Sobotka as a failed actor. Burrell as an upstate cop, sorta improbably letting Benson's brother off the hook for shooting a hostage. Carver as Goren's temporary replacement. Rawls as a convict/informant. Method Man terrorizing Nigerians. Judge Phelan as a New York judge. Omar as that hitman. It might have been more than 8, even.

both carver and bunk play nigerians in the same l & o episode
