one at harold washington (the one i hope to get) and one at truman which i'd take as beggars can't be choosers but i'd prefer the one in the loop that's 9 to 5 and doesn't require weekends.

xpost.

Sarah, I'll show you how to walk in heels.

Jesse, Wednesday, 26 September 2007 20:27 (sixteen years ago) link

Oh yes, bunions.

I just love vintage looking booties.

Thanks, Jesse, though you might be joking. I keep buying them, but never wear them.

KitCat, Wednesday, 26 September 2007 20:28 (sixteen years ago) link

I can't wait to go play tennis!

KitCat, Wednesday, 26 September 2007 20:28 (sixteen years ago) link

low heels

but cute

i got some sort of, i dunno, foldover pixie boots at the andersonville salvation army a while ago that i am looking forward to wearing.

La Lechera, Wednesday, 26 September 2007 20:29 (sixteen years ago) link

Amanda, I can imagine you cuffed pixie boots and I like it!

Bunions aren't a problem I have, but those boots would be no picnic to stand in for a long time, either. I have plenty of heels I love but that are too high to go to shows in, so if that's your goal, well...scale it down, I think.

La Lechera, Wednesday, 26 September 2007 20:33 (sixteen years ago) link

I was just browsing piperl1me. I decided it blows. Every shoe I'd pull up was only available in 3 or so sizes. "YESs... Let's see.. Ok, would you like a size 4, 6, or 6.5??"

KitCat, Wednesday, 26 September 2007 20:37 (sixteen years ago) link

Are they out of stock ALREADY?? Bummer. 6.5 is way too small for me, even, so that's not even realistic.

Laurel, Wednesday, 26 September 2007 20:39 (sixteen years ago) link

Oh, that wasn't in reference to a particular shoe.

KitCat, Wednesday, 26 September 2007 20:40 (sixteen years ago) link

who the hell wears size 4

La Lechera, Wednesday, 26 September 2007 20:41 (sixteen years ago) link

aside from kylie minogue

La Lechera, Wednesday, 26 September 2007 20:41 (sixteen years ago) link

and dakota fanning

La Lechera, Wednesday, 26 September 2007 20:41 (sixteen years ago) link

Your choices for the cutie bootie are 7 or 8.5.

KitCat, Wednesday, 26 September 2007 20:44 (sixteen years ago) link

i have two dogs fighting over lap space. it's very hot property. the gold coast of laps.

chicago kevin, Wednesday, 26 September 2007 20:44 (sixteen years ago) link

The Gaza Strip, even.

Laurel, Wednesday, 26 September 2007 20:46 (sixteen years ago) link

there's a dogpile of napping dogs on my lap. i'm stuck on my couch for a while.

Ian Riverwolf-Moraine.

jaymc, Wednesday, 26 September 2007 22:05 (sixteen years ago) link

cut it out you two

enh, this girl is nice enough, but i think she's the sort of person who would never really be able to get along with my friends. she's like, a vegan and a bike activist, and all my friends are layabout smokers and carnivores who own cars.

i like them a lot better.

river wolf, Wednesday, 26 September 2007 22:07 (sixteen years ago) link

also: interested in THEATER.

ABORT!!!!!!!!!

river wolf, Wednesday, 26 September 2007 22:08 (sixteen years ago) link

she's like, a vegan and a bike activist

that sounds easy enough to get past. The real question is, does she rock?

kenan, Wednesday, 26 September 2007 22:11 (sixteen years ago) link

I suddenly have a crush.

jaymc, Wednesday, 26 September 2007 22:11 (sixteen years ago) link

Actually, haha, vegan bike activists who are interested in theatre seem more likely to be smokers than most people.

jaymc, Wednesday, 26 September 2007 22:13 (sixteen years ago) link

haha! she likes the rock and roll, yes, but she's a bit hand-wavey about it. "big," hammy personality. we went to the Smiths night last night (UH), and she's an excellent dancer.

(it's funny, normally the vegan/bike thing would be bonus! but she's very IN YR FACE about it)

xp you'd think so, right???

river wolf, Wednesday, 26 September 2007 22:14 (sixteen years ago) link

actually john i think you two would get along well! she's really very nice!

also, from St. Croix USVI originally, wtf who is from there.

(it's funny, normally the vegan/bike thing would be bonus! but she's very IN YR FACE about it)

Oh, well... yeah. To each his own, but for me that would not only make dating her impossible, it would make me avoid her altogether. And vice versa, I'm sure.

kenan, Wednesday, 26 September 2007 22:19 (sixteen years ago) link

I just put in my vacation request for 2 weeks (18 days incl. weekends) off in June/July, and it felt gooood.

Jordan, Wednesday, 26 September 2007 22:22 (sixteen years ago) link

smiths night at danny's?

chicago kevin, Wednesday, 26 September 2007 22:27 (sixteen years ago) link

yes. pretty sure that place is awful.

river wolf, Wednesday, 26 September 2007 22:42 (sixteen years ago) link

(2nd time i've been)

river wolf, Wednesday, 26 September 2007 22:42 (sixteen years ago) link

i don't mind it. it gets kind of brotastic later in the evening but from 8-10 (or 9:30) it's not bad.

chicago kevin, Wednesday, 26 September 2007 22:50 (sixteen years ago) link

i've only been on "theme" nights

river wolf, Wednesday, 26 September 2007 22:54 (sixteen years ago) link

Yeah, you def. have to go early, before it gets cray-cray.

jaymc, Wednesday, 26 September 2007 22:55 (sixteen years ago) link

i've been on soul nights a few times but i tend to get there early before the festivities start then cut out once the steakheads show up. last time i was there i don't think it was a theme night but they were playing a lot of mid/late 60s pop (kinks, dave clark 5, paul revere, etc) and the place went from being desolate to over-run with backwards baseball caps in about 15 minutes. then i walked to delilah's.

chicago kevin, Wednesday, 26 September 2007 22:57 (sixteen years ago) link

"steakheads"!!!
