like if you count engineers & sidemen as contributors, which is really a fair proposition to make, you could technically nominate every album ever made for this poll

Christgau:
The Wild Tchoupitoulas [Island, 1976]Here we have eight songs about dressing up in Indian costume on Mardi Gras; many of them are also about fighting with other Indians. You've probably heard the New Orleans nonsense patois before, and maybe the irresistible melodic elements, too, although I can't tell any more, because I've played this "repetitive" record so many times it sounds like where they all started (which it may be). For a while, I believed side two inferior, but eventually a longing for "Big Chief Got a Golden Crown" set in and now I prefer it for listening. Side one is the best non- (or anti-) disco dance music in years--it had folks who'd never heard it before shouting "Indians here they come" at a thirtieth birthday party. Allen Toussaint produced, the Meters played, and mighty kootie fiyo. A

Good call with the Herion! I was thinking of adding Antioch Arrow to this list, but they released two full-lengths didn't they?
Anyway, Exploding Hearts will probably be forever my best and only answer to this question. I played the album in the car during a drive out to my parents a few weeks ago, forgetting that my wife had never heard the whole thing, and she fell instantly in love with it and we ended up playing it like 6 times in a row.

suggest anyone into those picks checks out that torches to rome record. not many people seem to know it, but it's one of my fave 90s hardcore records. (ex-fuel guys. the hardcore/emo fuel, not the shitty mod rock fuel.)
would also suggest checking out the worst case scenario record, which is justin from unwound doing really intense touch & go style hardcore, except i can't find a copy of it anygoddamnwhere now.

which LAMF is btw
feel like 2 Bad Mice counts though I'm afraid it opens the door to several dozen HxCx discography CDs

My '04 and '05 favorite albums never had follow-ups. Been recently wondering what the people in those bands have done since.
Casual Dots s/tVeronica Lipgloss and the Evil Eyes - Witch's Dagger
tho' I don't think I"d vote for them over Colossal Youth. Guitar Romantic might be my fav of '03.

What's the deal on one off collaborations e.g. Plant/Krauss, Reed/Cale, Eno/Wobble etc?
Would nominated 'Colourbox' the 1985 album by Colourbox but there's a 'mini-album' of the same name released in 1983, would that be eligible?
